AUSD Handbook for COVID-19 School Closures Dear Families, AUSD extends our support to you as we navigate school closures together. Our schools are closed from March 16 to April 13. Students return to school Tuesday, April 14, 2020. All administrators, teachers, and staff will be working to support students and will be available through email, phone and/or virtual options such as Google Hangouts, Zoom, Google Classroom. We want to be sure students have structure and routine during this time as they maintain their academic skills. We are asking all students to include the following into their daily routines: ● 30-60 minutes reading a choice book ● 30 minutes of physical exercise ● 30 minutes of practice in an art area (drawing, singing, playing their instrument, etc) We encourage social distancing, no assignments will require physical presence. Child Nutrition Services Meal Access The Auburn Union School District (AUSD) Child Nutrition Department will provide an opportunity for families to drive through and pick up meals for their children at all five AUSD school sites. Children must be present in order for meals to be provided. All school sites will provide lunch for that day and breakfast for the following day. Meals will be served between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm Monday through Friday in the parking lot or bus lane at each school site. Please stay in your vehicle and meals will be passed through the window based on the number of children in the vehicle. This program is solely for the pick up of meals and meals will not be consumed on-site. We encourage families to continue to be proactive in reducing the risk of COVID-19 by not congregating at the school site once meals have been distributed. We further encourage families to continue to wash hands often, sneeze or cough into a tissue and stay home if you are sick.
