Ballynashannagh – Travelling from Kerrykeel towards Portsalon. The first proper crossroads about 6 miles on will be (1) Ballynashannagh crossroads . Take a left turn here and it would be somewhere along this stretch of road from the Knockalla Consultation centre up to the New Drumfad School that Donald Dunnion would have residence in 1858.

Ballynashannagh and Magherawarden – Locations of both Dunnion Homes:

G[pthfw3uifhuirgtrg[p

Note - You can see from map that the both of them are actual on the same road but because of how poor the condition of road I did not recommend travelling this road. It would be my option that these two families would have be closely related. 1858 - Cullen Families from Clondavaddog/Fanad

Award Winning Beech nearby well worth visiting.. G[pthfw3uifhuirgtrg[p I hope these few pages have been of some small addition to your own family research, and that it might help to make it an enjoyable and memorable experience for you and your family.

Over the next months I will add to it more, but I thought it was more important at this time to try and find out one or two family locations from available documents for you to visit while here in Fanad, Who knows what you will find there or whom you might meet when you put you feet on the ground of where your family once lived, worked and raised their families all those years ago…

If you do have time and would like spend it taking in the great sights and activities, I would also recommend short trips to surrounding areas such of and Downing, Kerrykeel, Milford and , but of course Fanad is a place where there is always something to see and do, and no shortage of friendly local people to share it with also.. All the best, Seamus Callaghan
