Southern Area GREEN PAGES UnitingUniting thethe SouthernSouthern AreaArea throughthrough hobbies, hobbies, interestsinterests andand professionsprofessions Established 2012 Greetings Link Sisters, With the original launch of The Green Pages in 2012, the Southern Area of The Links, Incorporated introduced a new avenue for linking friendship and service. Under the administration of our 18th Southern Area Director Link Eneid Francis, the document served as an exciting resource guide designed to enhance membership throughout the Area. This digitally based document, housed on the Southern Area website in the “Members Only” section, is an intra-organizational resource restricted to, and accessible only by Links. It not only includes the profession and businesses of the Southern Area members listed, but also allows members to further connect by sharing hobbies and special interests. Our bonds of friendship have no doubt increased as we discover Link Sisters across the Southern Area with similar interests. With the Green Pages, we have the means to reach Link Sisters with the knowledge and expertise we seek not only in designing and implementing our programming that has continuously transformed our respective communities, but also in our personal lives. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your Link Sisters. They are looking forward to hearing from you. Collectively we are stronger, smarter and undeniably united as agents of change. Our current Communications team is working diligently on updating the document to an online library enabling real time updates. In the interim, we wanted you to get reacquainted with the Green Pages in preparation for our 2020 debut. Thank you in advance for your contributions to this historic document and online resource as we continue demonstrating Collective Excellence: Elevating ur Friendship, Enriching Our Service. Yours in friendship and service, Sisterly, Link Sylvia Sylvia Perry 20th Southern Area Director 2 A Message from Green Pages Founding Chairs Greeting Links Sisters, It is with great excitement that the Southern Area Communications Team debuted the Green Pages in 2014 after over a year of planning and implementation. We worked hard to create an innovative resource directory for our organization to serve as a bridge from one sister to another. It connects you with your sisters of similar hobbies, special interests, and professional knowledge, skills, and abilities across the Kenyonn Demps Kimberly LaMotte Southern Area. We look forwardto the relaunch of this information. It is within the Green Pages that our Link sisters will be inspired to: 1) Promote each other’s businesses – As you peruse the Green Pages, it is filled with valuable businesses and specializations of our Link sisters. Our businesses are the fruit and foundation of who we are, and in many cases, who we serve. Use the Green Pages as a resource to connect with a business you need, want to learn more about, or to refer a friend. 2) Create new hobbies and special interests – The Green Pages offers an array of our Link sister’s interests from gardening and dancing to desktop publishing, cards, and collecting African American art. This valuable insight allows you to locate fellow Link sisters who share your passion. This is also helpful as we conduct our programming and other activities. Perhaps you need an expert in a particular arena or would appreciate some advice from a sister in an unknown area, please utilize the Green Pages to identify assistance. 3) Network and brainstorm with stellar sister Links whose professional backgrounds include everything from education, medical, government, event planning and early learning to jewelry artisans and government officials. Let your fingers take a stroll through the Green Pages as it creates a foundation for our sisters to continue their relationships, start new ones, and serve as an opportunity for our friendships and chapters to prosper collectively.
