Race Day Parking Is at College Pond. CARPOOLING IS RECOMMENDED. RELAY TEAMS: You Are Allowed One Vehicle in the State Forest Myles Standish 16.20 & Relay Participant Information Thank you for registering for the Myles Standish 16.20 & Team Relay taking place on Sunday, November 12th, 2017. Below please find some important information about race day, number pickup, the course, etc. Additional race information can be found on the website at: http://www.southshorerace.com/myles-standish-1620--relay---november-12-2017.html Number pickup will be held on Saturday, November 11th from 4pm – 6pm at Marathon Sports, 38 Long Pond Road, Plymouth, MA. (Yes, you may pick up for other runners and no, you do not need a photo ID for pickup). Race day registration and number pickup will be open at 7:00 am on November 12th at the starting line which is located at College Pond in the Myles Standish State Forest. The race begins at 8:00 am. PARKING: All race day parking is at College Pond. CARPOOLING IS RECOMMENDED. RELAY TEAMS: You are allowed one vehicle in the State Forest. Please do not bring separate cars to the starting line. Each team should arrive at College Pond in 1 car and will only be allowed to have one car on the course. SPECTATORS: If you are coming with friends or family members that will be watching you along the course, please come in one car. There is limited parking at College Pond and for runner safety we will be limiting the number of vehicles allowed on the course. GPS ACCURACY: There are several areas of the State Forest that have limited or no service. Please keep this in mind if you are using a GPS. COURSE TIME LIMIT: 4 hours. All participants will need to be across the finish line at 12:00 noon to receive an official finish time. Please take a look at the course profile and elevation maps at: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/1805148326 The following sections of the course are closed to race traffic: Start to Mile 2 Mile 4 through Mile 10 RELAY AND SPECTATOR VEHICLES: PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW THE RUNNERS. All vehicles should follow the relay driving directions on the website for runner safety. • Water stops are located along the course approximately every 2 miles • There is bag check at the start/finish line. • Porta potties are located at the start, finish as well as around miles 2, 4, 9 and 13. • Ambulances and police are located throughout the course. • There are no dogs allowed on the course. • Headphones: Allowed?? Yes - but keep the volume down so you can hear what is going on around you. • Awards will be given out at the finish line – please see the website for categories & age groups • Directions to the start can be found on the website RELAY TEAMS • Please print the maps and instructions that are posted on the website and bring them with you on race day • The runner on the course should always be wearing the slap bracelet • Please be sure to keep your relay sign in the front window of your vehicle • If you pull over anywhere outside of the transition area, please be sure to pull your vehicle completely off the road so you are not blocking traffic. If you are registered and unable to make it on race day but would like your shirt, please pick it up at pre- race pickup or have someone pickup for you. We are unable to mail the items to you.     Curlew Pond, Plymouth General Information Useful Links: Curlew Pond is a 46-acre natural warm water pond located partially in Myles Get your Fishing License Standish State Forest, about 6 miles south of the town of Plymouth. It has a maximum depth of 33 feet and an average depth of 13 feet. Transparency is Freshwater Fishing good, extending to 12 feet, and the bottom is composed of rubble, sand and muck. The only water source is groundwater, and there is on outlet. The 1.5 Trout Stocking Information miles of shoreline are developed with houses on the eastern end and a state forest campground on the western end. Freshwater Sportfishing Awards Program Recreational Access An access suitable for cartop boats and canoes is located on the northeast end of the pond off Curlew Pond Road which is located of Bare Hill Road (70°41'41.55"W 41°53'33.24"N).
