By Bere Regis) (33.02m). Foll rd to Winterborne cricket pitch L (2.01m) on Green Hill Rd. At T at Kingston, at T R (sp Bere Regis) (35.65m) then Horns Inn, R (sp Furzehill) then imm L (sp Dumpton shortly take 3rd L (sp Winterborne Thomson & School), past school to T where L to X at Stocks Inn Anderson) through Anderson to X with A31(T) at Furzehill. R (sp Holt & Horton) to Pig Oak where fork Red Post. SO (with care) (sp Bloxworth) and L (sp Gaunts Common) (3.80m) on Petersham Lane continue to T at East Bloxworth (39.06m) where L thro Gaunts Common & down hill in to Horton. (sp Morden) then shortly at fork L (sp Morden) down hill. At T R (sp Woodlands) then, after leaving village L Just past former chapel fork L (40.15m) and foll (sp Woodlands) and continue to X at Woodlands winding lane thro West Morden (beware gravel on (8.66m) L (sp Moor Crichel) to T with B3078 road). At triangle just past farm L (no sp) & continue Cranborne Rd. R up Cranborne Rd then take first L to T with B3075 (41.84m). L (sp Almer) then at (sp Wimborne St Giles) (11.04m). Past Knowlton sharp left bend in road R (care) (sp Lytchett church to T where L (sp Gussage All Saints) to Matravers) to Lytchett Matravers. After climbing Gussage All Saints and at X near bottom of descent R hill, at X just past garage L (sp Corfe Mullen) (sp Gussage St Michael) (12.98m). Foll rd thro bends (44.50m) on Lime Kiln Road. SO at staggered X with to Gussage St Michael where just past church L up A350 to T where R then immediate L (sp Corfe steep hill and SO at X. Descend hill to T at Long Mullen). Continue up Pardys Hill, Corfe Mullen. At Crichel where R (15.50m) and foll rd to T with A354. T at top of hill R opposite PO (48.09m) (care – steep L (sp Tarrant Hinton) over hill to Tarrant Hinton start) then immediate L (sp Lambs Green) in to where L through Tarrant Launceston, Monkton & Wimborne rd. At RBT take 1st exit (sp Wimborne) Rawston then R (sp Blandford) (22.35m) up hill & then very shortly R (sp Merley) (48.41m) on Higher past golf course. At T with B3082 R down hill, SO at Merley Lane. Foll rd to T with A349 Gravel Hill RBT (care) & continue down hill in to Blandford where L (sp Wimborne) to RBT. Take 2nd exit (sp Forum. Wimborne) on B341 to Willett Arms where R (sp Canford Magna) in to Oakley Lane. Shortly R in to The “Gorge” café on your left in town. Oakley Straight and imm R again in to Harrier Drive then L in to Finish at Merley Community Centre. As you exit the town centre L (sp Dorchester) & cross river Stour then take 2nd R at fork (sp Winterborne Stickland) up hill. www.bjw.org.uk.

    Appendix 1 North Dorset District Council Local Development Framework Assessment of Settlements Based on Population and Community Facilities Supporting Document to the Core Strategy: Issues and Options Paper May 2007 1.0 Introduction Scope and Purpose of the Report 1.1 In light of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and Planning Policy Statement 12: Local Development Frameworks, North Dorset District Council is undertaking evidence gathering work to assist in the preparation of its Local Development Framework (LDF), which will have regard to, and will contribute to, the achievement of sustainable development. 1.2 The main objective of this report is to identify and audit the current services and facilities presently found in all settlements within the District and the resident population of those settlements. This report will be used as part of the evidence base in the production of the Council’s Core Strategy. 1.3 This supporting document aims to generate options for the identification of sustainable settlements. These towns and villages will be the focus for future development and will be shown with a settlement boundary in the Council’s Core Strategy. 1.4 This report serves as only a part of the evidence base which will inform the production of the Council’s Core Strategy. Full stakeholder and community consultation will be undertaken, following the statutory requirements of the ‘new’ planning system, and the corporate objectives of the Council, in order that the final decisions made by the Council are fully informed by the views of the District’s communities. The Local Plan and Emerging Regional Spatial Strategy 1.5 A primary strategy of the Local Plan is to concentrate development, especially that defined as major, to the main settlements in the District.

We have not taken a break through the summer but some members have been away to exotic places for their holidays and are now keen to get on with painting some lovely scenes. Unfortunately one of our members has been poorly and we all wish her a speedy recovery and to be able to join us again at the group sessions. Sue Marsh is handing over the reins of the Group to Elaine Anthony who has some great ideas for the future and is trying to arrange a visiting local artist for the autumn. Unfortunately due to prior commitments, the Art Group were unable to give a show of their work at the Horticultural Show in September as requested but they are keen to provide some stunning art work to be displayed in some of next year’s events. If you are interested in joining the group who usually meet twice a month, the Milborne St. Andrew Parish Council second and fourth Wednesday at 7.00pm in the committee room, further details can be obtained from the village web site, village hall Vacancy for Parish Clerk notice board or by contacting Elaine Anthony on 837089.
