BIOASTER receives from Pasteur a donation to contribute, in addition to the local authorities, to the funding of its new building within the campus of BioDistrict Lyon

With a donation of € 1 million, Sanofi Pasteur strengthens the support of the

Rhône-Alpes region and the Metropolis of Lyon, which co-fund the building for a total amount of € 10.5 million.

Lyon, June 1st, 2015 - BIOASTER microbiology technological institute announced today that it will receive from Sanofi Pasteur, a donation of €1 million for its BIOASTER1 building, currently under construction at 40 Avenue Tony Garnier in BioDistrict Lyon campus, the heart of life sciences in Lyon. This donation supplements the financial support of the local authorities, Rhône-Alpes region and The Metropolis of Lyon which co-fund 40 % of the project. By doing so, Sanofi Pasteur, one of the industrial founders of BIOASTER, strengthens its commitment to the IRT, and the development and growth of the BioDistrict campus which already hosts several pillars of Sanofi Group: Sanofi, Merial, Genzyme, Sanofi Pasteur and soon the consolidated world headquarters of the two entities Merial and Sanofi Pasteur. BIOASTER is a technology institute that leads research programs in four major application fields in health-related microbiology and infectious diseases: vaccines, antimicrobials, diagnosis and microbiota.
