Abstract: A new and morphologically very distinct species of Pediobius from Costa Rica is described. The new species (P. nishidai) is unique among New World species of Pediobius in having the propodeum elongated and extended backwards (i.e. with an elongated nucha). The entire type series (15 females, two males) was reared from a single prepupa of Epilachna mexicana and it has been concluded that the new Pediobius species is a gre- garious endoparasitoid that pupates inside its host. The possible use of this new species as a biological control agent against “the Mexican bean beetle” (E. varivestis) should be tested. Abstract: This is the first report of two ectoparasitoid wasps, Elachertus inunctus (Nees, 1834) in Iran and Elachertus pulcher (Erdös, 1961) (Hym.: Eulophidae) in the world, that parasitize larvae of the tomato leaf miner, Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) (Lep.: Gelechiidae). The specimens were collected from tomato fields and greenhouses in Ahwaz, Khouzestan province (south west of Iran). Both species are new records for fauna of Iran. The knowledge about these parasitoids is still scanty. The potential of these parasitoids for biological control of T. absoluta in tomato fields and greenhouses should be investigated. The genus Janicharis gen. nov. (type species: J. africana spec. nov.) is described from Cameroon, Nigeria and Madagascar. The genus Hakuna gen. nov. (type species: H. matata spec. nov.) is described from Uganda. Both genera have a rather characteristic habitus and a peculiar propodeum bearing large anterolateral strips. A new, but yet unnamed, species of the genus Trisecodes Delvare & LaSalle, 2000, is recorded from Cameroon. This is the fi rst Afrotropical record of this genus, originally described from the Neotropical region. Introduction Afrotropical and Malagasy Entedoninae are probably the least studied group with- in the family Eulophidae. They include only 107 of almost 1200 species known world- wide so far. Compared to this, 603 entedonines are known from the Holarctic region, 239 from the Neotropics and more than 300 from the Indo-Pacifi c area (Noyes, 2001, 2003). -

A list of the species from Iran belonging to the subfamilies Eulophinae, Entedoninae and Tetrastichinae is presented. In the present work 47 species from 22 genera are recorded from Iran. Two species (Cirrospilus scapus sp. nov. and Aprostocetus persicus sp. nov.) are described as new. A list of 45 host-parasitoid associations in Iran and keys to Iranian species of three genera (Cirrospilus, Diglyphus and Aprostocetus) are included. Zusammenfassung Dieser Artikel zeigt den derzeitigen Untersuchungsstand an eulophiden Wespen und ihrer Wirte im Iran. Eine Liste der für den Iran festgestellten Arten der Unterfamilien Eu- lophinae, Entedoninae und Tetrastichinae wird präsentiert. Mit vorliegender Arbeit werden 47 Arten in 22 Gattungen aus dem Iran nachgewiesen. Zwei neue Arten (Cirrospilus sca- pus sp. nov. und Aprostocetus persicus sp. nov.) werden beschrieben. Eine Liste von 45 Wirts- und Parasitoid-Beziehungen im Iran und ein Schlüssel für 3 Gattungen (Cirro- spilus, Diglyphus und Aprostocetus) sind in der Arbeit enthalten. -

The descriptions are based on material reared from microlepidopterans of the genus Phyllonorycter Hübner (Gracillariidae): A. platanoidae from P. platanoidella (Joannis) on Acer platanoides, and A. robiniae and A. robinicolus from P. robiniella (Clemens) on Robinia pseudoacacia (black locust). The new species are very similar to previously described species, A. platanoidae to A. acerianus (Askew), and A. robiniae and A. robinicolus to A. gahani (Miller), but they are shown here to differ from their sibling species both in biology and in external morphology. The host of A. robiniae and A. robinicolus, P. robiniella, is a serious pest on the black locust tree in Europe, and the descriptions with diagnoses of these two species, and their scientific names, introduced here will aid the biological -

ABSTRACT: Two species of eulophid wasps are recorded from Poland for the first time: Horismenus specularis (ERDÖS) (Entedoninae) from Lower Silesia and Stenomesius rufescens WESTWOOD (Eulophinae) from the Eastern Beskidy Mts. Notes on key characters and illustrations of the recorded taxa are given. KEY WORDS: Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea, Eulophidae, Poland. Introduction Eulophidae is one of the largest families of Chalcidoidea. In Poland, 282 species have been recorded so far (WIŚNIOWSKI 1997); however, this group is poorly studied in our country, and contemporary faunistic studies provide data on its representatives sporadically (WIŚNIOWSKI 2007). Similarly to other minute Hymnopterans (Chalcidoidea, Platygastroidea, Ceraphronoidea, etc.), it results from little popularity of these insects among entomologists, consequent upon difficulties with species identification. Many Eulophidae representatives are parasitoids of insects that have a certain economic impact (e.g. crop pests), hence the fragmentary and dispersed data on some of Chalcidoidea can not only be found in the Polish faunistic literature, but also in studies concerning forestry or plant cultivation (np.
