Recently awarded “living legend” status by Rolling Stone, Joe’s career spans an astonishing 50+ years. As a singer, songwriter, saxophonist and producer Joe Camilleri is considered one of the most genuinely talented figures in Australian music still at the top of his game. Songs such as So Young, Hit & Run, Shape I’m In, Hold On To Me, Harley & Rose, Chained To The Wheel, Never Let Me Go and the Chosen Ones have become radio staples. As leader of two of Australia’s most successful bands, Jo Jo Zep and The Falcons and The Black Sorrows, Joe’s music has become part of Australian music culture. Joe was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame in 2007. Over the years other greats have admired Camilleri’s signwriting. Elvis Costello and John Denver are just two who have recorded cover versions of Joe’s music. Never one to sit still Camilleri is preparing to promote the 3rd single from his 49th album, The Black Sorrows’ Citizen John, on a 15 show tour of Europe (the band’s 2nd European jaunt for 2019) and a 50+ show tour in Australia. DAN SULTAN has been a singular musical presence in Australia since 2006’s Homemade Biscuits. Quickly becoming a household name, the album Blackbird won three NIMAs, the 2014 ARIA for Best Rock Album and was certified gold. Killer was nominated for Best Rock Album and Best Independent Release at the 2017 ARIA Awards. Sultan was nominated for Best Male Artist, not for the first time. 2019’s Aviary Takes, is a collection of back catalogue songs, new tracks, including a couple of covers, all recorded in ‘one vocal take’ at The Aviary Studios. 'Nali & Friends', is Dan’s debut kids album showing his versatility as a revered songwriter. RHONDA BURCHMORE. After 30 years in the business, this vivacious, flame-haired beauty continues to turn heads wherever she goes and draw thunderous applause wherever she performs. Highlights of Rhonda Burchmore's illustrious career are performing on London's West End in a number of musicals including Sugar Babies featuring Mickey Rooney and Ann Miller, Stop The World I Want To Get Off with Anthony Newly and starring opposite David Atkins in the original Hot Shoe Shuffle. Other productions include lead roles in Annie Get Your Gun, Mame, Easter Parade, The Boyfriend, They're Playing Our Song, Song & Dance, Guys & Dolls, Respect- A Musical Journey of Women, Little Orphan Trashley, Eurobeat, Calender Girls, and as Tanya in the original Australian production of Mama Mia! Rhonda's television credits include a regular role in the long running variety show, Hey Hey It's Saturday, as well as Spicks and Specks, Kath & Kim, Carols By Candlelight and, in 2014, a guest role on Nine Network's Love Child. In 2011, Rhonda released her auto-biography, Legs 11, with New Holland Publishing. Rhonda has recorded five albums, including Cry Me A River- The World of Julie London with ABC Records. In 2002 and 2012 Rhonda won Female Vocal Performer of The Year at the MO Awards and ACE Awards. Just one of the many awards she has received throughout her career. In 2014 Rhonda was awarded the OAM for her service to the performing arts and community. CHANTOOZIES Somethings are just meant to be – and it was certainly that way for The Chantoozies. The dynamic female pop vocal group dominated the 1980s with their party anthems. From the 80’s to today, they have been adored by audiences for their vibrant live shows and their strong female lead vocal line-up. Led by Eve von Bibra, Tottie Goldsmith and Ally Fowler, they played to packed houses, sold-out national tours and joined international headliners on the road, all while keeping true to their ethos of putting on a great party. With the success of recent projects like Motown and Beyond , under their belt, and the release of their latest single Take Me In Your Arms. (Produced by Tim Henwood of Rogue Traders & Palace of the King), The Chantoozies are back and they are ready to party. LIBBI GORR is a broadcaster and gentle rabble rouser, blending her love of the deeply shallow and anxious optimism with her work on ABC Melbourne. By Radio, she hosts Saturday Breakfast , a blend of news through an entertainment lens and on Sunday Morning The Health and Wellness Show for the Eternally Optimistic. By TV, she files stories on social issues, still following on from her youthful exploits as McFeast. Heart and Humour are her calling cards, with a little bit of footy as culture thrown in with the wildly successful Podcast Malthouse and McFeast, Live from the Coaches Box. In joining the Scared Heart Mob for this Mission, she picks up her stand up tools from the workroom for a rare live outing at the magnificent Palias Theatre. ROB SNARSKI a velvet voiced troubadour with a musical pallette that lies somewhere between Havana and Helsinki … think Cuban cigar with a liquorice ice-cream. The lead singer and founding member of our national treasures THE BLACKEYED SUSANS and a hired gun; being guest vocalist with The Triffids and with The Go-Betweens|16 Lovers Lane shows both in Australia and overseas. Since the release of Snarski’s acclaimed solo debut “Wounded Bird” there’s been an album of cover songs “Low Fidelity”, the return to his beloved band The Blackeyed Susans for the album “Close Your Eyes and See” plus a set of short whimsical music and family related tales within his sweet memoir “You’re Not Rob Snarski - Crumbs from the Cake”. His latest solo release “Sparrow & Swan” sees a gravitational pull towards the narrative - conversation turns into song, late night tales become tunes. There are stories here from Brisbane cab drivers, girls from Belfast ‘74 in search of Van Morrison, football players and their protégés, relationships sparked in TABs, sightings of Robert Mitchum at Mitcham Station, a sailor in search of Helsinki ...and the weather, there’s always the weather; the sun burning a hole in the sky or snow falling upon ancient ice ...and birds, what’s with the birds? STEPH TISDELL is a major rising star in the Australian Comedy Scene. After cutting her teeth in the UK and winning the Deadly Funny National Grand Final in 2014, Steph has been collecting awards and accolades wherever she goes and building an impressive TV, radio and print credit. 2018 was a huge year for Steph, she toured Australia with the Aboriginal All Stars and Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow and debuted her first solo show “Identity Steft” at Adelaide Fringe Festival, where she won the weekly award for best emerging talent, and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival where she was nominated for the illustrious Best Newcomer Award. 2019 is looking to be even bigger, she sold out her full runs at Sydney Comedy Festival and the Melbourne international Comedy Festival, where she received even more rave reviews and critical acclaim, winning the Melbourne Comedy Festival John Pinder Award. Steph is a proud Indigenous woman and is making a fast rise as one of Australia’s funniest Aboriginal comedian’s. With a magnetic personality and quirky stage presence that skips between gleefully playful to biting political satire, Steph’s comedy is vulnerable, real and insightful.

  • Adventures of the Amazing Revelators
The Adventures of the Amazing Revelators "I don't see this as a greatest hits recording, more an opportunity to pay homage to some of the great writers of our time. The Revelators were formed out of a desire to keep this music alive. Some of these songs have been with us for some time - others we were drawn to because of their charm.... and every word is true." Joe Camilleri These were the words that graced The Revelators' 1991 debut CD release. 'Debut' is an odd word to use for a group of musicians who have been an integral part of the Australian music scene for so long. The Revelators The Revelators story started in the late 80's when Joe Camilleri, along with friends James Black and Joe Creighton, took to the stage as 'The Delta Revelators' . Their desire was to blow out the serious days' work with people who shared the same interest in music and who simply wanted to play it. On stage with Pete Luscombe on drums (Black Sorrows, Paul Kelly, Rebecca's Empire) and Jeff Burstin on guitar (Black Sorrows, Vika & Linda) the word spread that this was a great band. Soon the occasional gig was not enough to keep the punters happy. Regular sessions at ID's (now The Continental) and The Botanical Hotel had the fans asking 'When are you going to do a CD?' 'Amazing Stories' 'Amazing Stories' was released in 1991 and everyone in the band agreed it was the best album they had ever made. The fans felt the same and the CD is still eagerly sought after by roots music aficionados.

  • Biography 2002
THE BLACK SORROWS Biography 2002 Joe Camilleri is an Australian legend who has given his life to music. In the mid 80s following the success of his first band, Jo Jo Zep and The Falcons, Joe Camilleri gathered together a group of musician friends and dubbed them The Black Sorrows. The band began playing for the fun of it, recording independent albums and selling them out of the boot of his car. When radio picked up the classic track, 'Mystified',The Black Sorrows really took flight. They signed to CBS and proceeded to release some of Australia's most successful albums including the multi-platinum sellers Hold On To Me, Harley & Rose and The Chosen Ones. Over the past fifteen years, The Black Sorrows have toured Australia more times than anyone can remember, played sell out shows across Europe, won the ARIA for 'Best Band' and sold more than a million albums world-wide. Joe Camilleri's songs have become part of our lives. The Sorrows' string of hits is seemingly endless: Dear Children, Country Girls, Snake Skin Shoes, Harley & Rose, The Chosen Ones, Mystified, Ain't Love The Strangest Thing, Better Times, Never Let Me Go, Chained To The Wheel, Daughters of Glory, Stir It Up, New Craze... and he's certainly not done yet. Look around the world and you have to put Joe in the same company as people like Eric Clapton and Van Morrison - legends, performers whose careers span decades, transcending all styles and fads, performers who are loved for the fact that they're obviously in it for the music.

  • CX 23 Countdown 30-41
FEATURE BACK TO THE FUTURE WITH CX had trouble keeping away when far too many of the old bands we once worked with were dusted off and shown off with brand new production values. Julius Grafton went way down memory lane….. 30 CX 15 NOVEMBER 2006 pectacular it was, and value for money at almost four hours running Stime. Countdown kicked off at 7.30 with John Paul Young singing alone on the thrust stage and a bunch of dance students doing a 2006 version of the Countdown TV show audience - hands outreached, hair akimbo. Half way through ‘Yesterdays Hero’ the rear revolve produces the house band whose work will back most of the acts. There was the voice from the box, Gavin Wood who bantered effortlessly with host Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum. Molly was the reason Countdown was such a central part of the music industry for two decades, and he is the reason that Michael Gudinski’s Frontier Touring show worked so well. In the first fifteen minutes there were four acts rolled out, looking and sounding as good as the house band and a professional production could make them. Within the first half hour there was rock greatness with the likes of Choirboys showing that you can still manage a long career and play like you mean it. There was cheese, courtesy of the irrepressible Brian Mannix of the Unfunny X-Men, and there was deja-vu with Cheetah, the sister act that came on looking quite fabulous. Real star quality emerged early with Leo Sayer who managed to engage with a female member of the audience, undo Introducing the new WMS400 wireless system from her hair and lay her on the floor of the AKG, which combines ease of use and innovative stage for a kiss, without missing a line of technology with these additional key features and the ballad.
