In the year 2018-19 science forum Organized following Science related activities. 1) State level Science quiz: (20-02-2019) State level Science quiz is organized by science forum on 20/2/2019(Wednesday). We send invitations to all the degree colleges of Karnataka. Good response come from all the colleges. As a result 25 colleges including Government and Private colleges send their brilliant students to attend the science quiz in our college. We conduct Written Quiz to all the students to select them for Final quiz. After conducting Written quiz Finally 16 teams having two students each are selected for science quiz. The State level Science quiz is Organized in the “Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam Semianr Hall”. The inaugural of this function is done by our chief guest Dr.B.L. Mukundappa, Associate Professor, University Science College, Tumkur and by our principal prof .K.M Rajanna. In the inaugural Speech Dr.B.L. Mukundappa, told about the importance of Science in our daily life. The importance science quiz in Comptative examinations.In his words “Science helps in developing mental ability, thinking ability, Curiosity”. Our principal prof .K.M Rajanna sir in his Precedential speech told about the Science courses and science departments in our college and challenges in running Science courses in colleges. In his Words“ science course requires labs, instruments, Computers, Chemicals, Glass operates. So science student must study hard regularly and give good results to the department and college ”. After conducting Written Quiz 16 teams having two students from different colleges are selected to the final Quiz. We give scientist names to the 16 teams . they are 1)Sir CV Raman team 2)Srinivas Ramanujan Team 3)Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam team. 4)C N R Rao Team, 5)Homi j Baba team 6) Aryabhata team 7) S Chandrashekar team 8) Kalpana Chawla Team. 9)Vikram Sarabai team 10) M Vishweshwaraya team. 11) J C Bose Team 12)Bhaskara team. 13) M S Swaminathan team. 14)Udupi Ramachandra rao team. 15) Yash pal team. 16) Meghanad saha team. The quiz has four rounds namely, Stage I -Two rounds –Basic Science Round and General Knowledge Round. Which includes Basic questions Physics , Space ,Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Environment. Each question carries one mark. Stage II-Abbreviation and Expansion Round and Audio Round. Which includes Abbreviation and Expansion like NASA, UGC, ISRO, IIT. This also includes Audio Round. By listening audio of some famous speakers one has to identify the speaker. Each question has one mark. Stage III -Current Affairs round and Visual Round. Which includes General knowledge questions related to current affairs, science, sports. Stage IV-Rapid Round and Buzzer Round. Which includes Rapid round in which if one team fails to answer then the question goes to next team. After conducting Written Quiz 16 teams having two students from different colleges are selected to the final Quiz. The Quiz started at 11-00 am .All the rounds are conducted by our science teachers. Finally six teams were selected and the Winners of State level Science quiz conducted by GFGC TIPTUR are GFGC TIPTUR- I Palce, All Amen College Bangalore(II Palce), Siddhartha College, Tumkur(III Place), IDSG College, Chikkamangalore(IV Palce). The Principal Prof Rajanna Sir distributed cash Prize , Memento and Certificates to all the winners of State level science Quiz. 2)Science Day Celebration and Science Exhibition(28-02-2019) National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman on 28 February 1928.For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. National Science Day Programme is Organized by Science Forum. The Programme Inauguration is done by Prof. C . Krisnappa., Principal ,GFGC Gubbi., Dr. Pradeep C R,Professor of Mathematics, IIT, and our Principal Prof. Rajanna. K. M. In the programme Prof. C . Krisnappa., gave detailed history of our Great Scientist Sir C.V. Raman and his great Discovery “The Raman Effect ” . The Dr. Pradeep C R give meaning of science and importance application of science to the present society. On the same day Science Exhibition is Organized by the department of, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science,Botany,Zoology. Science Students Prepared more than 100 wall magazines, models, Charts, Experiments, Computer Progrnmmes, in all subjects. Principal meet all the departments and see Science Exhibition .The Student also honored for their good performance in exhibiting models in their subjects. At the same time Students who got highest marks in the main examination are also honored by our principal. BSc students made chars and models related to Mathematics like Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Pythagoras theorem etc, and physics related models, environmental related models, Computer related models etc. 3)Educational trip to Military AIRSHOW: Educational trip to Military AIRSHOW at yalahanka Bangalore: Science forum Organized trip to Military Air show at Bangalore. Along with faculty Prof.Nagabushan SR, Prof.Ramesha HG, Prof.Manoj Kumar a group of 60 BSC Science Students are selected for this trip. It is one of the memorable day in our life. 4) Educational Trip to IISC, Bangalore: Science forum Organized an Educational trip to Indian Institute of Science ,Bangalore. Along with Prof .Ksvitha.BS a team of 60 BSc science students are selected for the trip.We visit dept of Physics,Dept of mathematics ,Dept of Computer science at which we see super computers.
