Four-year-old has won two of her three starts since joining the barn of Graham Motion including one at this distance at Gulfstream in March. Barn wins with 25% of runners that have not raced for 46-90 days and with 14% in graded stakes and four-year-old can be running late and may surprise with Eddie Castro in the saddle. 6 Artemus Kitten 8/1 Five-year-old comes off a third place finish over a mile in a stakes at Indiana after a tough trip in mid-June and is first on BRIS Prime Power. Daughter of excellent turf sire Kitten’s Joy has won five of her fifteen starts on grass for trainer Mike Maker who

wins with 21% of his runners on turf and who has won with 26% of his starters since the beginning of the year. Chestnut has some tactical sped and should not be far from the leaders from the start with aboard. 8 Colonial Flag 5/2 Filly comes off a third place finish in a Grade Three at Churchill in June when making her first start since November and has won three of her nine starts on turf. Daughter of Pleasant Tap won a Grade Three in Canada last year for trainer Michael Matz who

wins w ith 16% of his runners second time off a layoff and who has won with 15% of his starters since the beginning of the year. Filly has some tactical speed and can be tracking the early leaders with Joe Rocco in to ride. 4 La Tia 4/1 Dark bay is first on BRIS Back Speed and earned top ranking on Early Pace Last Race when going gate-to-wire to win a statebred stakes here in mid-June in her second start of the year. Daughter of City Place will make her third start for trainer

Armando De la ce rda who wins with 18% of his runners third time off a layoff and with 17% of his starters on grass and filly will likely be the one to catch with Constantino Roman retaining the mount.

Three-year-old is also first on Prime Power and is trained by Mike Maker who wins with 22% of his runners that have not raced for 46 -90 days and with 12% in graded stakes. Colt should appreciate the extra distance and should find a decent early pace to help his closing style turn the tables on his main rival with Julien Leparoux aboard. 2 General Election 4/1 Winner of the Arlington Classic in his latest in May in his first start on grass has been working well for Kellyn Gorder who wins with 24% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days. Son of Harlan’s Holiday, who is first on BRIS Current Class, gets turf in fluence in his pedigree being out of a mare by Kingmambo and can be running from off the pace again with Joe Rocco retaining the mount. 1 Procurement 9/2 Three-year-old did not get the best of trips when fifth in the Arlington Classic in his most recent start when racing for the first time since winning a stakes on turf at Santa Anita. Trainer Tom Proctor wins with 19% of his starters on grass and has won with 16% of his runners overall this year and son of Milwaukee Brew may be closer to the early pace today and be a contender late with Eddie Castro in the saddle. 7 Dorsett 8/1 Third place finisher in the Arlington Classic followed that run with a win in al allowance here last month and now has a record of 5-2-1-0 on grass. Son of 14% grass sire Artie Schiller is from the barn of Mike Stidham who has won with 26% of his runners at this meet and who wins with 21% that won their last start and three- year-old can be stalking the early leaders with E T Baird retaining the mount.

Six-year-old has now won four of his six lifetime starts on grass and is trained by Alex

Clarkson who wins with 18% of his starters on turf. Bay posted a five furlong work in 1:00 2/5 at Keeneland in the end of last month and can be running from off the pace with James Graham in the saddle. 7 Coalport 7/2 Improving four-year-old comes off a win in a stakes here in mid-June when winning his second start in a row and has now won four of his eleven starts on grass. Son of Kitten’s Joy is from the barn of Wayne Catalano who wins with 21% of his runners

that won their last start and who has won with 36% of his starters at this meet. Chestnut is first on BRIS Current and Average Class Last 3 and, with some tactical speed, can be forwardly placed from the start with Channing Hill up. 2 Dullahan 3/1 Son of Even The Score is a dual Grade One winner on synthetic surfaces and comes off an unsuccessful trip to Dubai. Chestnut has hit the board in three of his five starts on turf and posted a five furlong work in 59 2/5 at Churchill six days ago for trainer

He came back on the turf last out at Monmouth Park and won going away in decent time. Shug McGaughey wins 25% against this stakes level and 24% first start after a win. By DISTORTED HUMOR (13% turf winners), he is out of a stakes-winning dam by COX’S RIDGE that won her turf debut. 1 Optimizer 2/1 Iron horse just missed two starts back when he was run down by his stablemate then came back here last out on a rain-softened course and was a good second behind a multiple grade one stakes winner. Son of ENGLISH CHANNEL (16% turf winners) is out of a dam by A. P. INDY (13% turf winners) that is a half-sister to grade one stakes winner FINDER’S FEE. 2 Speaking of Which 12/1 Raced well in Ireland last year where he won a group three stakes race going ten furlongs. He just missed in his American debut at Santa Anita last November then ran poorly in his next two starts. Christophe Clement wins 26% first start after a win and 21% with his turf starters. He draws inside for a covered-up trip and gets – 24% when he rides for Clement and 22% with his overall turf starters.

(G3) at Keeneland back in October in an effort where he stalked the pace early and finished well late to claim the victory by a neck. The dark bay returned from the layoff last out with a nice effort in the Penn Mile S. in which he rallied from 3

1/2 lengths off the pace but ran out of ground late and crossed the wire in third, beaten by three parts of a length. Trainer wins 19% of the turf races he has a runner in and he will have regular rider John Velazquez in the irons who wins 15% of the turf races he has a mount in. 4 Rydilluc 9/5 Has visited the winner's circle in four of his last five starts with his lone disappointing effort coming in the Bluegrass S. (G1) on the synthetic at Keeneland when he pressed the pace early, took the lead, and then was caught in the stretch, crossing the wire in fourth, beaten by 1 3/4 lengths. The bay returned from the layoff last out with a nice performance in the Penn Mile S. on the grass at Penn National in which he stalked the pace early and then held on late to claim the victory by three parts of a length. The bay posted a 101 BRIS Speed rating in that effort and a repeat of that performance would make him a threat in this spot. Regular rider gets the call today and he wins 15% of the turf races he has a mount in. 3 Charming Kitten 7/2 Followed up his ninth place finish in the (G1) with a solid effort on the grass in the $500k Penn Mile S. in which he stalked the pace early but lacked the needed kick late and crossed the wire in second, beaten by three parts of a length by Rydilluc. Trainer Todd Pletcher wins with 25% of his runners shipping to another

circuit and 22% of the Graded stakes races he has a runner in. Joel Rosario gets the call and he has combined with the conditioner for a 25% win rate over the last 60 days. Charming Kitten tops the field in BRIS Prime Power by over four points and also possesses the best BRIS Class rating. 8 Gefest 20/1 Should appreciate a return to the grass after putting in a disappointing performance last out in the Pegasus S. (G3) at Monmouth in which he finished a well beaten fourth. The bay ran much better in the Arlington Classic S. (G3) in the start prior as he rallied from four lengths off the pace but lacked the needed kick late and crossed the wire in fourth, beaten by 1 1/4 lengths, before being moved up to third via disqualification. Trainer Gennadi Dorochenko wins with 13% of his runners shipping to another circuit. It would be wise to include this one in all exotic wagers.

THE AMERICAN OAKS 9th BHP 1 1/4m (Turf) Grade I 3yo Fillies, Purse: $350,000. 8:00/ 7:00/ 6:00/( 5:00) 8:11/ 7:11/ 6:11/( 5:11) $1 Exacta / $2 Quinella / $1 Trifecta,$1 Superfecta (10-cent min.) / $2 Double # Horse ML Comments 1 Sarach 9/2 Daughter of arch had a nice prep for this race when wiring the field in the Honeymoon H. (G2) in advance of this, and we think the best is yet to come with this

Richard Mandella pupil. Prime Power second is one of only a few we feel are bred and cut out for this distance right now, and her rail draw and early speed also gives her an edge of sorts, though she is versatile and can win from anywhere. Barn is 21% second off the layoff and she gets the upset nod under Martin Garcia as a value play. 5 Scarlet Strike 2/1 Holldendorfer starlet is as honest as they come and wouldn't be a surprise in this field as the potential favorite. Daughter of smart Strike never runs a bad one, especially on the lawn 4-1-3-0 career mark on the green. The sophomore filly comes off a pair of

runner-up tries on this oval with slightly compromised pace scenarios, and if she can stay a touch closer in this ten-furlong test, we think it would aid her chances. Barn 30% with a beaten favorite last time, Bejarano riding never hurts the cause. 3 Emollient 5/2 Bill Mott trained daughter of Empire Maker never fired in the Black-Eyed Susan S. (G2) but annihilated her foes in the Ashland S. (G1) by nine lengths two back, so the classy filly must be on the ticket. Juddmonte homebred has yet to run on the lawn but

is bred for it, and also in the correct barn to thrive on the green. We like the confident move from these connections to ship in for this race and could be the one to beat on class alone. Money rider Mike Smith has the assignment and ships in also.
