LGB, LLC 2014 / Mathea Kelley Juvenile Fillies - New Year's Day proved last year that you can win a Juvenile Fillies - I don’t have a strong feeling in this race, so I’ll stab BC Juvenile event off a maiden win. Puca gained solid foundation with a with a crazy price. According to Trakus data, Majestic Presence rallying third behind the talented Lady Eli in a grassy two-turn Saratoga covered 70 ft. more than Angela Renee in the GI Chandelier S. That maiden second out, then blew the doors off at Belmont when returned to ground loss equates to more than the 7 1/4 lengths she was beaten. dirt. Certainly a tall task, but not exactly overwhelmed by the competition Wager: $50 win on #7 Majestic Presence (20-1). in here, either. Wager: $100 win on #8 Puca (6-1). F/M Turf - European milers are always dangerous going longer here-- F/M Turf - Secret Gesture has useful tactical speed, stays the distance just look at the PPs for Just The Judge (Ire) or Dank (GB). I loved and was as game as can be in a narrow defeat against the boys in Fiesolana (Ire)’s finish in the G1 Matron S. after getting totally bottled G2 York S. Runs well fresh and handles the firm going. That’s more up, and she exits an extremely tough spot in the G1 Prix de la Foret. than enough for me. Wager: $75 win on #5 Secret Gesture (6-1). Wager: $175 win on #6 Fiesolana (8-1).

F/M Sprint - Concerned with Stonetastic getting too free, but last year's F/M Sprint - Maybe the distance isn’t optimal, but Stonetastic is too runner-up Judy the Beauty is tactical enough to be well-placed. Was fast for these fillies. She’s getting loose--it’s just a question of if she can wheeled back too fast for Humana Distaff flop and the remainder of her hold on. Wager: $125 win on #3 Stonetastic (8-1). ‘14 form is flawless. Wager: $180 win on #7 Judy the Beauty (5-2). Turf Sprint - Anyone who says they have a strong opinion in this race is Turf Sprint - Tightend Touchdown has been carefully campaigned after either a way better handicapper than I am, or they’re kidding a heart-breaking defeat in this race at 18-1 last year. He’s clearly a themselves. The key to liking Silentio is noting the competition he’s different horse on firm ground and I absolutely loved his GIII Parx Dash faced--he’s finished very close to and sometimes in front of horses like effort--his lone try on, you guessed it, firm ground in ‘14. Wager: $75 Wise Dan, Obviously, Goldencents and Winning Prize. This is basically win on #4 Tightend Touchdown (8-1). a class drop for him. Wager: $50 win on #2 Silentio (8-1).

Juvenile - Maiden of four starts Calculator was hurt by an outside post Juvenile - This race was obviously hurt by the defection of American in the GI FrontRunner and was much closer to the pace (with a wide Pharoah, but I preferred that one’s stablemate One Lucky Dane either trip) than he wants to be. Should sit a perfect, ground-saving trip from way. One Lucky Dane’s just a maiden winner, but the way he finished in his rail draw this time around in a race loaded with speed. Wager: $150 his first dirt start last time was extremely impressive. I don’t think he’ll win on #1 Calculator (15-1). have any trouble rating kindly, and he might fall into the perfect trip in a race that is still likely to produce a superstar or two. Wager: $100 win Turf - Telescope (Ire) was freshened with a purpose for a trainer that on #11 One Lucky Dane (10-1). owns this race, loves firm ground and has done his best work at this distance. Price will drop with the defection of the defending champ, but Turf - Switched my pick at the last minute from Main Sequence to hopefully not too low. Wager: $125 win on #1 Telescope (4-1). Imagining--looking for the latter to steal it. Wager: $50 win on #3 Imagining (12-1). Sprint - Mico Margarita impressively reeled in a loose-on-the-lead runner last time, granted it was at Remington Park. Stretch-runner will Sprint - I’ve been waiting for Bourbon Courage to turn back since get the perfect set up and the numbers say he belongs. Live longshot. some time in 2012. His 6 1/2-furlong allowance win at Keeneland Oct. 3 Wager: $50 win on #7 Mico Margarita (15-1). looked good--he’s dangerous if he can move forward. Wager: $60 win on #14 Bourbon Courage (30-1). Mile - Toronado (Ire) will be tough, but I’m going to take a wild stab with Summer Front. He’s fresh, turns back to a mile and ran a big one in his Mile - This is Karakontie’s trip. He ran into a world of trouble last time in last trip to California. Wager: $30 win on #10 Summer Front (30-1). a tough running of the G1 Prix de la Foret, but fits well here if he doesn’t get hung too wide. Wager: $125 win on #14 Karakontie (10-1). Classic - Knew DiDonato would be on him too, but just can’t go against impressive GI JCGC winner Tonalist. Getting a bad rap as just a Classic - It should come as no surprise at this point to anyone who ‘Belmont specialist’ despite also posting a huge maiden win going follows our stuff that I’m going for Tonalist. Now that he’s proven he can against the grain at GP earlier this year. Candy Boy & Majestic Harbor settle, he should be very tough here as long as he takes to the track. interest me as longshots to toss in underneath. HASH WEINSTEIN PASSES AWAY South Florida bloodstock agent Howard AHash@ Weinstein, passed away Thursday evening in a Florida hospital, according to his friend, trainer Howie Tesher. He was 96 years old. Tesher said that Weinstein had been in the hospital for two weeks after suffering a series of small heart attacks. AThere is so much I could say,@ said his close friend, Steve Silver, reached by telephone. AHash and I have been friends for close to 50 years and he kind of adopted me when I got in the game when I was about 23 years old. I=ve traveled all over the world with him and he=s been like a mentor to me and a really close friend. The truth is that he is the end of an era. He=s the last of the Damon Runyon characters. I=m sure going to miss him. He made such tremendous contacts over the years and everybody respected him. He used to love to sit out there and have people listen to him while he pontificated about the business. I think he really reveled in the respect that a lot of people paid him.
