Liturgy Committee Wednesday, January 13th, 2021 6:30 p.m. - ZOOM

Encourage them to go directly to the person. If they choose not to, then it is important that person who gets message, shares it – so leadership has an opportunity to respond to it. f. Christmas Masses – what worked? What didn’t? (*see numbers signed up and actual attendance below) a. Ministers were very good. Top-notch and ready. Friendly, welcoming. b. Decorating crew – nice job with everything. c. Good to have point person. d. Others taking care of “tickets.” e. Large events requiring tickets – need to be there earlier. f. Need more time between Masses. g. Ministers – couldn’t get there 45 minutes before because of close mass times. h. People just not showing up, was a bit disappointing. i. No way of avoiding registration no-shows. j. Creche scene – favorite ever! k. Weird not to talk to anyone! vi. Other?

b. /Holy Week i. Ash Wednesday – February 17th 1. Liturgies (not necessarily Mass) at 8:30 am, 11:30 am; 5:00 pm 2. Add 7:00 a.m. – Liturgy of the Word with Ashes (Not a Mass) / 7:00 p.m. – Liturgy of the Word with Ashes. 3. School will have mass at 1:45 pm (not open to public) 4. Stations of the Cross a. Recorded b. PDF’s of booklets c. Leave Great Hall open for individuals to walk the Stations of the Cross – put up hours of availability. Single file line… d. Drive-by stations? Outside to represent the stations. Listen to recording of Father/whomever reading it. 5. How to distribute ashes? Still waiting on the Office of Worship. ii. Palm Sunday – 5, 8, 10 - March 28th iii. Holy Thursday – 7 - April 1st 1. How to do Foot-washing? 2. Do foot-washing? 3. Whole Congregation did not go / just representatives. Just have families, couples, etc. Same household. Do 3 couples. v. Easter Vigil – April 3rd 1. 9 Morning Prayer 2. 8:30 - Mass vi. Easter Sunday – April 4th 1. Masses at 8 and 10 a. Not going to have an occupancy limit. b. 50% + Great Hall. c. Can safely seat around 325. – Actual # may now be higher – will determine number. d. 40-50 in the Great Hall. e. Share Christmas #’s. Have the Easter Masses again sign-up. Had plenty of room. III. Wedding Evaluation – looking over documents sent and seeing how we can streamline and/or re-work them. a. Planning Sheet b. Music c. Procedures d. Lunch e. Scripts f. Expense g. Etc.

IV. Other thoughts/ideas/Concerns a. Increase in # of people going to church b. Latest message from c. Adorers want to use pews. Talked to Eric about using pews. Not really keen on using pews and wiping down – starts to break down newly finished pews. At this time, we are going to keep using the chairs. Move the chairs around if need be. If you want to face center. Communicate to Sue about the breakdown / you are welcome to move your chair if you need to – keeping 6-foot distance. Father will email Sue.

Action/Summary Items from January Liturgy Committee Meeting:

1. Continue the ticketing process for Lent/Triduum/Easter 2. Record Stations of the Cross / also have an option for in-person “individual” stations (booklets made available to take home) 3. Ask Pastoral Council and Liturgy Committee folks to run hospitality for Lenten services. 4. Publicity for Ash Wednesday, Lenten Penitential Services, etc. – run by Committee members – Volunteers needed. 5. Choose “Three” Households to do Foot-washing. 6. How Ashes will be distributed is to be determined. 7. Holy Thursday Adoration / Altar of Repose – TBD 8. 2 Passion Liturgies on Good Friday / Tenebrae recorded 9. Communal Veneration of Cross on Good Friday. 10. Determine exact number of spots with new 50% occupancy levels. 11. Communication to Adoration about use of chairs vs. pews. – Father will contact Sue.
