School of Computer Science & Engineering Report on Center of Excellence- Machine Learning Applications for Society

Introduction:

The Poornima University has started the Center of Excellence- Machine Learning Applications for Society in the School of Computer Science & Engineering in collaboration with Bannett University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The collaboration has been done in between both the universities to share the research accomplishments in the fields of Machine Learning, Data Science and Machine Learning. Initially in 2018 the collaboration was done with a MoU where Bannett University was the Mentor Institute where as Poornima University was the Nodal Center. Now the University is intended to establish itself as Mentor Institute at Poornima University in the future expansions and want to excel its research dimensions in the field of Machine Learning. Under the Center of Excellence (CoE), the School of Computer Science & Engineering is committed to arrange Special lectures, workshops and seminars by the people from industry academic and research verticals.

Objectives and Purpose:

Our Policy and Advocacy team conducts research and thought leadership activities on Machine Learning and its impacts on the Social Issues. The role of the Center of Excellence- Machine Learning Applications for Society is to primarily act in an advisory capacity to:

 Provide guidance on policy and issues relating to the research in the areas of Machine Learning.  Identify current and emerging research in the areas of Machine Learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.  To integration of leading academic research with strategic applications in the areas of Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.  To conduct the special lectures, workshops and seminars by the people from industry academic and research verticals to educate the faculties and students with proper guidance.  Develop an environment for the faculties and students so that they can carry out the research for the benefit of local surroundings. This environment will encourage the researchers not only from our university but from the nearby areas to do research on local issues to develop alternative solutions, creating innovative multipurpose products at cheaper cost, solving medical issues, etc.  The practical problems encountering during productivity cycles should be taken into the account while formulating research studies in that particular field. With this objective the Center of Excellence is committed to develop the projects for the benefit of society and its comfort.

Activities Done:

1. In this collaboration the Universities has organized a workshop on “Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning” from October 12, 2018 to October 14, 2018. The detailed report is attached in Annexure-1.

2. University has established a Research Lab exclusive for Machine Learning and Data Science. The Detailed report is attached in Annexure-2.

3. The Center of Excellence is committed for learning and for that it encourages the faculties and students to learn from outer world also. In this regard the School sends its faculties to learn the concepts of Artificial Intelligence through trainings and FDPs. The Detailed Report is attached in Annexure-3

Vision & Future Prospects:

Artificial intelligence is one of the most powerful technologies for reshaping the human need and comfort in decades. It has the ability to optimize many processes throughout organizations and is already the engine behind some of the world’s most valuable researches. With the vision to expand the research under the umbrella of this CoE, School of Computer Science & Engineering is committed to carry valuable research and develop the value added projects for the region of . The School want to establish the Center of Excellence as mentor for the Universities of Rajasthan for initial 3 Years and later on expand the horizon to national level. In the coming Academic Year, CoE is planning to organize two National Level workshops and one International Conference. In the current plan, School of Computer Science & Engineering has established and high end computing lab for the research purpose and will upgrade it with high end central and cloud servers in the upcoming 3 Years.

Achievements:

The Center of Excellence is in its initial phase and started working on various projects. The students groups have been created who are working diversely on the projects which are submitted to DST.

Projects Done by Students There are various projects on which the students of School of Computer Science & Engineering are working. These projects are submitted to Department of Science and Technology, and subjected to the approval. The Detailed report is attached in Annexure-4.

Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Deep learning

12-14 October, 2018

Objective: To enhance the skills on Artificial Intelligence and deep learning theory and hands- on knowledge

Outcome: Students and faculties were able to implement the theoretical knowledge for developing application in Deep learning using programming language Python

Overview: The workshop duration was of 3 days

A workshop held at Poornima University on the topic “Artificial Intelligence and Deep learning” during 12-14 October, 2018. A new club named “Poornima Health Care Assistive Technology Innovation club” in collaboration of Bennett University was inaugurated by Dr. Deepak Garg (Director, NVIDIA-BENNETTE Research Centre & leadingindia.ai) in the presence of Dr. Mahesh Bundele (Director, PCE), Ar. Rahul Singhi (Director, Poornima foundation), Dr. Manoj Gupta (Pro-president, Poornima University). Around 40 faculty members from different colleges and 15 students belonging to the department of Computer Science and Engineering of Poornima University participated. Some of the students provided their full co-operation in managing the event and smooth conduction of the workshop. The keynote speaker of the workshop was Dr. Deepak Garg.

1. Title of Project: “Ek Nayi Himmat” – A better version of the Himmat app. 2. Project Summary: Ek Nayi Himmat is a modified version of Himmat App ( an app for women safety ). In this version of Himmat version the submissions of status like location and phone number should be accessed by not only police panel but also by the media at the same time. This app should be implemented all over India and not only in Delhi and should be available in all 21 native languages and not only in Hindi and English. 3. Technical Details of the Project:

 Changing few attributes of the database.  Making this data available to the nearest media stations where the mishappening took place by using GPS.  Changing the permissions of the database to read only so that no one can change the information. 3.1 Definition of the Problem or Objective: The main objective of this project is the initiative towards Digital India. The main purpose of the system is to reduce female abuse with transparency in the working. By this media will have each and every abuse reported through Himmat app so that every crime can be detected. The main hurdle in this project is the awareness. PEOPLE ARE NOT AWARE ABOUT SUCH SAFTEY APPS. Out of 19 million people only 30821 had registered in Delhi. This app should be implemented at a national level , taking under all the police stations and media centres. 3.2 Work Plan: Literature Survey: 3 Months Design of Project System:2 Months Manufacturing: 1 Month Results & Discussions: 1 Month 3.3 Methodology: Step 1:Analysis of all the requirements. Step 2:Gathering of data for the project. Step 3:Create the database structure as required. Step 4:Fetch an existing database and GPS. Step 5:Designing of the layout of different modules. Step 6:Making every module functional. Step 7:Make a single unit by combining all modules. Step 8:Proceed for the testing of the designed system. Project Summary: As an applications of visual recognition technique, this project tries to transform the visual world into the audio world with the potential to inform blind people objects as well as their spatial locations. Objects detected from the sCSEne are represented by their names and converted to speech. Their spatial locations are encoded into the 2-channel audio . Our system composes of several modules. Video is captured with a portable camera deviCSE on the client side, and is streamed to the server for realtime image recognition with existing object detection models .

They often faCSEs problem in navigating around plaCSEs, identifying objects, living independent of their own. Criminals often use them as their target due to their visuals challenges. 2. Project Summary: India's economy primarily depends on agriculture yield growth and their allied agro industry products. The agriculture yield prediction is the toughest task for agricultural departments across the globe. The agriculture yield depends on various factors. Particularly countries like India, majority of agriculture growth depends on rain water, which is highly unpredictable. Agriculture growth depends on different parameters, namely Water, Nitrogen, Weather, Soil characteristics, Crop rotation, Soil moisture, SurfaCSE temperature and Rain water etc. In our paper, lot of Explorative Data Analysis is done and various predictive models were designed. Further various regression models like Linear, Multiple Linear, Non-linear models are tested for the effective prediction or the forecast of the agriculture yield for various crops in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. 3. 3.1 Definition of the Problem or Objective: The main objective of this project is the initiative towards Digital India. It will also solve dispute of low selling priCSE for farmers by developing an online platform that has united all near bymandis information This will increase farmer seling priCSE and their financial condition.

 Origin of the Project:- In agriculture field there is a lot of loss sometimes of grains and sometimes of a human life if farmer would have the nowledge of techniques used in farming or a platform by which he can check which crop to grow in which season what is the market value of a particular crop in near by mandis then a lot farmers can be saved and agriculture can be largest factor in increasing our country’s GDP. 6.Utilization of outcome of project: The agricultural sector is going to faCSE enormous challenges in order to feed the 9.6 billion people that the FAO predicts are going to inhabit the planet by 2050: food production must increase by 70% by 2050, and this has to be achieved in spite of the limited availability of arable lands, the increasing need for fresh water (agriculture consumes 70 per CSEnt of the world’s fresh water supply) and other less predictable factors, such as the impact of climate change, which, according a reCSEnt report by the UN could lead, among other things, to changes to seasonal events in the life cycle of plant and animals. One way to address these issues and increase the quality and quantity of agricultural production is using sensing technology to make farms more “intelligent” and more connected thorugh the so-called “precision agriculture” also known as ‘smart farming’. 7. 1. Title of Project: Smart Transportation in city!! 2. Project Summary: A Smart City is an urban area that uses latest technologies to provide better accessibility to city transport. Lack of quality and safe public transportation, inadequate capacity of public transportation, overcrowded transport, poor transport management systems, theft remain the key issues of not only Jaipur but also other cities. That’s why City Transportation is an important pillar for quality of life of citizens in a smart city. 3. Technical Details of the Project: 3.1 Definition of the Problem or Objective: The main objective of this project is the initiative towards Digital India. The main purpose of the project is to help the people and to reduce their troubles in dealing with the city buses. It will help the people and government for issues related to transport. There are problems like accidents, overcrowding, theft, pollution etc. Overcrowding causes defects in buses (A.C in buses, puncture). Main objective is to develop a system that indicates how many people are allowed to sit or stand according to capacity of transport. Also a system that will not need conductor any more, a machine will be there which will scan the passenger’s slip and door will be opened according to it. So, ticket theft will be avoided.

Project Summary: Leftover Waste Management is just a simple concept of collecting food from different places like where the food is remained uneaten as in marriages, hostels, PGs, hotels and some other places which will be distributed to the needy peoples who slept starve at night. This project will help us to reduce the number of daily deaths due to starvation. 2.1 Origin of the idea: The project strike me when I have seen so many leftover food in the waste of my city. I decide that day I will come up with a strategy to tackle with waste food crisis in India. That I decided to develop food bank. 3. The main purpose of the system is to help the poor people and to reduce the deaths due to their empty stomach. Project Summary: This project depicts the design and development of smart mirror that represents an elegant interface for glancing information and also used for thief detection in a home environment, security in banks. A smart mirror is a system that functions as mirror with additional capability of displaying date, time, current temperature, weather, camera, touch screen and other details. In this project we are in building voice control, gesture control and also touch control. 3. Technical Details of the Project: 3.1 Origin of the Proposal : Most of the Hollywood movies have smart mirror technologies depicting the artificial intelligence and the developing technology. This was one of the reasons where we got attracted towards IOT. Also while getting updated through various latest tech we had seen the smart mirror and thought we would develop something like this for society benefits.

3.2 Definition of the Problem: This project has been developed with the idea of making home smart to save time. The Internet transformed our lives by connecting us more easily to information and other people in the virtual world. The state of innovation currently is to provide more information with less interaction to get it. It is a wall mounted mirror which displays relevant items to the user such as weather, time, date, temperature, social media, camera and news and other fields of interest. IoT emerged the idea of remotely monitoring objects through the Internet. A common approach for building a smart mirror is to use a high quality one-way glass, a LCD monitor/display, a frame to hold the glass and monitor, and a web browser with python to provide the software features and drive the display, basic components of IOT. 3.3 Objectives: The main objective of this project is to use various features like voice control, gesture control and touch control in order to perform basic functions like social media, date and time, and camera in a small mirror which could be used for security, attendance, and various other requirements of society.

1. Title of Project: App regarding citizen awareness for road conditions and waste disposal. 2. Project Summary: Citizen awareness alert application through GPS tracking and database integration achieved through Google's services and API which would be available on the Play Store for people to download and it will help raise awareness about the conditions of the road and the cleanliness of the city. Police estimate that more than 50% of accidents in India occur due to bad road conditions, which is a huge problem for the safety of citizens of India. This app attempts to combat this overlooked problem since it brings to the attention of the government the exact location and fix the problem. Incentives can be introduced for vigilant citizens to encourage participation and minimise the fatalities caused due to bad road conditions and reward them for disposing of a certain amount of waste and move one step closer to a fully digital India.

3. Technical Details of the Project: Definition of the Problem or Objective : The main objective of this project is the initiative towards Clean and Digital India. The main purpose of the system is to help the people be aware of the increasing problems of potholes and garbage in the city. It will help the people to report any trouble in the city like road problems or a garbage dump which would not take much of their time in daily routine. Utilisation of the outcome of the project This application increases citizen interaction and encourages active participation of concerned people who are vigilant about the accident prone areas and this can pave the way to fully digitalise the government platform and maintain transparency with the government of India.

7. Future Aspect: The future aspect remains vast for this line of development since there exists no such app being used by the general population. The introduction of an alert and reporting app for road conditions and garbage management can greatly improve the situation of awareness in India since we suffer from lack of awareness to a great degree. Introduction of incentives can propagate interest and make people take an initiative and report unsafe road conditions and garbage to the government where the officials cannot be present at all times and the taking of such an initiative can pave way to the further development of the app including several other aspects in which we, as a society can work together and solve the problems through a community method.

1. Title of Project: Donation of valuable items to government schools, orphanages and old age homes. 2. Project Summary: This project will help the people living in the cities to donate valuable items such as books, clothes, useful articles to the government schools located in the remote areas where such facilities are required. A network will be created through GPS locating all the government schools outside and within the city so that the people who want to donate such items can locate the place. Also these donations can be done in orphanages and old age homes with an additional feature of food donation. In case of marriages or any other functions, the remaining food left can be supplied to the nearest orphanage or old age homes. Also the people can add there items which they want to donate and if some other person is in need of that, they can contact the doner for help. Thus this project will create connections between people, government schools, orphanages and old age homes for their requirements. 3. Technical Details of the Project:

3.1 Origin: We get an idea by seeing many orphanage’s and the needy who is need some clothes and the other things. On that other side, the people have that all things which he/she can’t be used that product or thing. So they can easily donate that un useful thing to the needy. 3.2 Definition of the Problem: The main purpose of the project is to help the people and childrens or students who can’t afford for books or clothes, It will be resultful with the help of children studying in government schools of remote areas where these facilities are difficult to reach. Also the donors can easily locate the place where they can or want to donate. This project will provide free and easy help to the one who is needy.

Project Summary: Blood finder application which is a blood tracking app that tracks available blood group nearby hospitals and peoples who can donate blood at that moment by using GPS (Global Positioning System) tracking can be done and It helps the needed person to find the blood group quickly. It will save the peoples life. 3. Technical Details of the Project:

3.1. Origin: We get an idea by seeing many blood camps at our campus (Poornima University) in which many Blood bankers came from different-different Hospitals and branches and collect blood from people in campus eg faculty members and students which are capable of giving blood.After all this we think to make a application for this process in which emergency supply of blood is be there. 3.2. Definition of the Problem or Objective: The main objective of this project is to save life of peoples. The main purpose of the system is to help the people and to reduce their troubles in dealing with the finding blood group. It will help the people to track their available blood group without wasting much of their time. The main hurdle in this project is this app can find nearby blood donor and available blood which is needed by patient in nearby Hospitals. It can easily works and there is no direct interface of patient and Donor, Its link Through a Hospital which helps the patient to recruit and provides the Blood at lower. Project Summary:- Accident or Jam Tracking System helps us by informing police, ambulance, fire brigade around traffic light cameras at where incident takes place by giving them location and alert signal. Step 4: Fetch an existing speech recognition API , GPS, IoT and AI.

1. Title of Project: Two Wheeler Safety Module

2. Project Summary:

The objective of the smart safety module is to provide a means and apparatus for detecting and reporting accidents. Sensors, Wi-Fi enabled processor, and cloud computing infrastructures are utilised for building the system which can be mounted on any two wheeler. The accident detection system communicates the sensors to the processor which continuously monitors for erratic variations. When an accident occurs, the related details are sent to the emergency contacts by utilizing a cloud based service. The vehicle location is obtained by making use of the global positioning system.

3. Technical Details of the Project:

3.1 Origin: We get an idea by seeing many designer system sensor system. 3.2 Definition of the Problem or Objective:

The objective of the project is to design intelligent sensor system which could be attached to any two wheeler and ensure the rider safety while riding the bike and alerting the Family in case the rider has met with an accident. The system detects accident and intimate relatives through geometric location of rider via SMS, emails, automated calls asking them to check their messages, facebook messenger app message, alert notifications on selected devices, posting the details on facebook various social media sites to seek for helps all automatically.

3.6 Proposed Outcomes or Findings:

After the completion of this Project,any vehicle rider will not die or in trouble through accident while travelling on roadways. The road accident is one of the major problems all over the world. The recent report says that the annual average road accident is estimated to be about 7,00,000 of which 10 percent occur in India which has overtaken China. WHO in its Global status report on road safety says that around 80,000 people are killed on Indian roads due to rash driving and less usage of helmets.

The limitation of sensors installed in the unit is subjected to user capability, with minor changes user can use it as a home security system, an iOT bridge for automation etc.

Project Summary: RECENTY is a e-commerce website and a little bit mixture of social media where users can share links from their business accounts of Amazon like websites and if other users buy any product from their links they both will get some benefit from it. The user who share the link will get some margin from the price and user who buys from the link will get some cash back in form of discount.

Technical Details of the Project: 3.1 Definition of the Problem or Objective: There are many people who creates business account of the websites like Amazon to get some profit by sharing the product links but there is no platform through which it can be done easily. So, we wants to provide them the platform where people don’t have to worry anymore about it. In today's fast running life we are not getting time for ourselves, on that we are also having the problems like robbery .to overcome this issue we thought of this project which will reduce the cases of robbery and misshapenness.

2. Project Summary: The altercation alarm is generally a system that controls the fights or alegation between the two people of age group between 17 -25 . The device is basically transmit a frequence between the range of 15-16Hz in the sorroundings which could only be heard by the people if in the age group of 17 -25 and causes a short time headache to the people so they could stop the allegations

The main purpose of the system is to help the people and to reduce their troubles in dealing with the city violence. It will help to reduce the accidents related to violence. 1. Title of Project: Controlling Electronic Devices using braim wave’s

2. Project Summary: Brain-computer interface is collaboration between a brain and an electronic device that enables signals from the brain to direct some external activity, such as control of a cursor or a prosthetic limb,. When neurons in the brain interact via chemical reactions, measurable currents called brain waves are created.

3. Technical Details of the Project:

3.1 Origin: we created an idea by seeing troubling the people with certain problems like physical disability.

3.2 Definition of the Problem or Objective: Brain Computer Interface systems are the tools that have been put forward to help the disabled people who are inadequate of retorting to a computer using brain signal. The development in home automation is moving forward towards the future in creating the ideal smart homes environment. Optionally, home automation system design also been develop for certain situation which for those who need a special attention such as old age person, sick patients, and handicapped person. Brain computer interface system would actually help us to do real time multitasking , it will allow us to do different work at same time.

3.3 Work Plan: Literature Survey: 2 Months Design of Project System:2 Months Manufacturing: 2 Month Results & Discussions: 1 Month

3.4 Methodology:

Step 1: Analysis of all the requirements.

Step 2: Gathering of data for the project.

Step 3: Create the database structure as required.

Step 4: Fetch an existing brain wave sensor .

Step 5: Designing of the layout of different modules.

Step 6: Making every module functional.

Step 7: Make a single unit by combining all modules.

Step 8: Proceed for the testing of the designed system.

Step 9: Check whether the system is compatible with every focused environment or not.

Step 10: Make changes if required.
