We appreciate the fine work that the Holy Name Society of St. Jos eph's has done for the parish. We encourage them to continue their efforts and hope that in a short time they will take on more Catholic Action Work like visiting the sick, those have just moved into the parish, etc. We also plan to look into the 'Retreat Movement' in the Diocese to see how soon our H.N.S. can be represented at our new Re treat House in Old Washington. Congragulations to the men of the parish and to our H.NVs. for their wonderful response to the needs of the . May God grant you more cooperation and blessings in the things you undertake for the Church in the future. THE CHOIR Children attending St. Joseph School who sing in the choir are di rected by Sister Bernard. Those attending other schools in the upper grades are taught by Margaret Jean Vahalik, who also plays the organ. Those who belong to this group are P. Sieneski, P. Boone, B. Boone, K.& J. Wilks, M. Vahalik, A. & C. Starr, C. & P. Hilton, and others. There are also C. Waggoner, E. Kelley, S. Kochan, R. Croskey. L. & K. Hilton, M, L. & S. Vahalik, C. H S. Gotschall, S. Scopel, K. Finn, N. Prisbylla and M. & S. Manson. Others have helped with the organ are M. Mueseages, C. & D. Zak. But our school children, boys and girls, have also been of considerable help in the choir: M. What is more, many of these have even come on Saturday. There is no problem of a choir during the school year. Those singing at Mass on Saturday perform a double service very pleasing to God. THE BOY'S The server at Mass also lends greatly to the devotion and inspir ation that the faithful gain who are attending the Mass. It makes a great difference to the congregation whether the servers are devout and deliberate or not in their motions. We have always tried and maintained a calibre of true sincerity in our altar boys, only those who know their prayers thoroughly are allowed the privilege of being in 'charge4. Their names are always printed first whenever a new list is put into the Bulletin. The following are among this privileged group: R. Rucki, S. Zelasko, W. Vahalik, D. Wilks, S. Nowalk, R. Kinney. The remaining altar boys are G. Wilks, J. Vahalik, J. Zelasko, R. Drabick, R. Hilton, R. Kinney, W. Nowalk, P. Freeman, J. Smith, J. Buxton, E. Gotschall, J. Albaugh, R. Eckenrode, R. & D. Vahalik. Others who served in the past are W. & M. Aurand, J. Niemiec, J. Schultz, M. Morgan, T. Wilks, G. Star, J. & J. Bick and etc. We are planning soon to intro duce the Kn ^ts of the Altar Program into the Parish.
