President’s Message By Rob Cimler

OFFICERS Hey, what happened to August? Was the month shortened this year? I guess President time flies when you’re as busy as we were. By that, I’m talking about JSR’s main Rob Cimler 732-505-6218 event, our Thunder in the Pines DE. It was our 4th annual DE at New Jersey Mo- [email protected] torsports Park and third on the Thunderbolt circuit. It was a great turnout and well Vice President worth the time and effort put into it. Speaking of time and effort, I’d like to thank Nick Trocchia 732-870-0052 those who helped make it happen. Our staff and volunteers really outdid them- [email protected] selves to make the event run smoothly. I can’t thank everyone by name here as the Treasurer list is quite long but you know who you are. We had several very dedicated instruc- Michael Gussis 732-671-2688 tors who attended not to drive their cars but just to instruct a student. We also had [email protected] several JSR members who came down to help man the staging line. Although I was Secretary busy at the registration table in the mornings, I heard that the tech line ran smoothly Tom Geiger 908-715-2600 with hardly a glitch. Thanks also to Mike Bavaro and Bodymotion for offering up his [email protected] resources, expertise and crew during morning tech. Past President I would be remiss if I didn’t give special mention to Greg Pfremmer, our Track Bill Casey 732-223-3086 Chair. Most people don’t realize the tremendous amount of hours he put in to make [email protected] this event happen. Planning started many months ago and as the date drew near, Tourmeister it could have qualified as a full time job. When you consider how he did this on top Phil Kim 917-952-3714 of taking on the role of interim newsletter editor and publisher, all while keeping his [email protected] business going, you begin to realize that we have one of the hardest working PCA Track Chairman members right here in our region. If you had a good time at the event and thought Greg Pfremmer 732-598-7348 it ran well, please thank Greg when you see him. [email protected] Finally, I want to express my sincere appreciation to Schneider+Nelson Porsche, Track Registrar Rob Cimler who sponsored the event. They really came through for us and thanks to their sup- 732-505-6218 port, we can rest assured that there will be a Thunder in the Pines next year too. Brandon did a fantastic job and I was impressed with his driving [email protected] ability. Membership Mike Monteleone The DE is behind us now but I know that many of you will keep memories of it for 908-692-6410 a long time. The officers and staff can catch their breath for a moment but looking [email protected] slightly ahead to next month, I’m pleased to announce that JSR will again hold our Newsletter Editor Greg Pfremmer Oktoberfest, a favorite event of many members, myself included. It will take place 732-598-7348 on Saturday, October 22 from 4-8pm at the home of Bob and Denise Horneck, our [email protected] very gracious hosts. More details to follow but for now, you’ll want to mark the date Safety Chairman Greg Arcure in your calendars. 732-237-5906 We will also try to organize one or more tours or social gatherings. Keep an eye [email protected] out for those e-mails to keep up with everything you need to know about club events.
