Spokane Sport Horse Farm 3rd Annual Fall Horse Trials September 29th - October 1st, 2017 Spokane Sport Horse Farm LLC is a proud member and sponsor of many organizations. We support the United States Eventing Association (USEA), United States Dressage Association (USDF), United States Equestrian (USE), as well as more regional groups. We attempt to recognize the desires and needs of the competitors we serve with our recognized shows. We appreciate useful input that allows us to improve your experience as a competitor. Please talk to us or even send us anonymous feedback about what you liked (we LOVE compliments), didn't work for you, what we don't do you want us to do or provide and anything else germane to our future events. Please plan to attend our May 10-13, 2018 3rd annual spring event. Thursday will be FEH and YEH with schooling dressage and SJ opportunities. The event will offer intro to adv/intermediate. PGJ will be Sue Smithson with other judges tba. Karen Winn TD. Chris Barnard for SJ and XC CD by James Atkinson. Secretary Heather Peterson and organizer Christel Carlson. Plan ahead for fall Oct 5-6-7, 2018 a week later. PGJ will be Bea DeGrazia with Wayne Quarles and Wendy Wergeles as well. Secretary Heather Peterson and organizer Christel Carlson.. we hope to be able to offer 3 D classic divisions at BN, N and TR. interest in Prelim 3D anyone (let me know)! We have many other activities at the farm. We support education of riders and their horses with clinics, camps, schooling opportunities and schooling shows. Please submit your name, address, email, phone number on the sign up form in the office and which types of activities you are interested in attending. As a point of pride, as well as financial support, I do not charge for auditing riding clinics I personally host. I want you to attend to watch and learn. That is why we also make hosting a camp at the farm affordable. Contact us if interested. We also try to be good stewards of the land entrusted to us. Please help us by recycling, picking up trash and after your pet. We love our dogs and would like to let them come to the shows and clinics but I ask that you make sure they are kept secure for their sake as well as others, as well as you police after them. Please help us recycle and keep the grounds free from litter. Please no smoking on the property as fire danger is extremely high- besides it is bad for you any- way and your neighbors don't enjoy it. WE VALUE ALL OF YOU! 5 OFFICIAL’S BIOS MARILYN PAYNE, GROUND JURY PRESIDENT, FEI 3/4*Eventing Judge and USEF “S” Dressage Judge, is a distinguished trainer, competitor, judge, and educator of judges. She trains FEI eventing officials and is a member of the FEI Eventing Committee. In 2016, she was President of the Ground Jury at the Olympic Games in Rio. She was also President of the Ground Jury at the 2010 World Equestrian Games, and a Member of the Ground Jury at the 2008 Olympics. She has been teaching for more than 30 years, and has produced dozens of successful dressage riders and eventers. She resides with her husband, Dick, at their Applewood Farm in Oldwick, NJ. Their children, Holly and Doug, at both 4* competitors and trainers. PETER GRAY, GROUND JURY, has been a resident of Ontario, BC since completing studies at the University of Guelph. He has established his own training centers at Stonehill Farm and in Ocala, FL at Wentworth Farm. He is a popular clinician throughout North America, preparing students for dressage, equitation, jumpers, and eventing. Peter has competed at most major international events in Europe and North America, in three Olympic Games, was an alternate for the Canadian team in the 2004 Athens Olympics, two world championships, and is a Pan Am Eventing Individual Bronze Medalist. Peter has campaigned three F.E.I. dressage horses over the past six years, enabling him to debut in his first Grand Prix competition. Peter is one of only two Equine Canada Certified Level 4 coaches, and is a keen educator of aspiring coaches. He was National Olympic Eventing Coach for Canada from 1996-2000, the Pan Am Coach for Venezuela in 2011, and Guatemala in 2015, and has twice been the Young Rider Coach for Ontario. DEEDA RANDLE, GROUND JURY, grew up in Wilson, WY at the foot of Teton Pass. She began riding at a very early age and discovered her true love of jumping when Linda Kristjohnson moved town. In 1974, Deeda attended Meredith Manor and found the sport of Eventing. Since that time, she has volunteered, organized, competed in horse trials and helped the sport of Eventing grow in what is now Area IX. Deeda became an Eventing TD in 1984 and Judge in 2002. She is always working to improve her education in both the training and teaching aspects of the sport as well as staying on top of the development of the current sport. It has been a life journey as well as a life passion 6 OFFICIAL’S BIOS CHRIS BARNARD, SHOW JUMP COURSE DESIGN, grew up in England and learned to ride at the age of 8. Chris started his British Horse Society training at the prestigious Gleneagles Equestrian Center in Scotland.
