Film Sales Support (FSS) for Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF)

EFP backs marketing campaigns of six European films at China’s Competitive Film Festival

European Film Promotion (EFP) is backing the promotional campaigns of six European films at the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival, SIFF (June 11-19) with Film Sales Support (FSS). FSS is supported by the MEDIA Programme of the with a remit to strengthen the marketing of European film outside of Europe.

The six campaigns have been endorsed by EFP’s members. One sales and four production companies will The Good Neighbour by Stephan Rick, be receiving financial support totalling €27,500 for 2011 promotional and networking campaigns at China’s Competitive Festival. SIFF is one of three industry events in Asia for which FSS is available to European professionals, the others being the acclaimed Hong Kong FILMART in March and the Asian Film Market in Busan, South Korea, in October.

For the first time, FSS is supporting a film from Croatia, the science fiction movie, The Show Must Go On by Nevio Marasović. The film is being represented by Alan Bahorič from the Croatian production company, Copycat (Imitator), who is travelling to Shanghai with the director. The Good Neighbour by Stephan Rick which is one of the other films benefitting from FSS, has its world premiere at Shanghai and is part of the festival’s Competition.

At Shanghai’s market, which runs alongside the festival The Show Must Go On by Nevio Marasović, from 13 to 15 June, German Films and Cinecittá Luce are Croatia 2010 offering stands for attending professionals.

The films were confirmed by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Cinecittá Luce - Filmitalia, the , Flanders Image, the Greek Film Centre and German Films.
