Freddie Mercury Biopic - Bohemian Rhapsody Beat: Music Freddie Mercury Biopic - Bohemian Rhapsody Creation of the iconic band Queen London, 25.07.2018, 06:43 Time USPA NEWS - Queen fans and rock-n-roll lovers won't have to wait much longer to see the much anticipated release of Bohemian Rhapsody - The Movie. The late Freddie Mercury, front man for the rock band Queen, will be immortalized on the big screen starting in October. Queen fans and rock-n-roll lovers are sure to enjoy learning the inter-working of the band while they were composing their hits and especially when they produced the song that is the namesake of the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. Born Farrokh Bulsara on the island of Zanzibar in 1946, Freddie´s early life had him attending and studying piano at St. Peter´s, a private school in India. In 1964, his parents moved the family to England, where he began studying graphic design at Ealing College of Art. Freddie met Brian May and Roger Taylor while they had the band Smile. They needed a new lead singer and Freddie fit the bill. Queen was formed and became complete when John Deacon joined them in early 1971. They released three albums in those early years: Queen, Queen II, and Shear Heart Attack. It was their fourth album, A Night at the Opera and the single Bohemian Rhapsody that brought them worldwide attention. Released in 1975, Bohemian Rhapsody sat on top of the UK charts for nine weeks. Starring in Bohemian Rhapsody ““ the movie, is Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, Gwilym Lee as Brian May, Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor, and Joseph Mazzello as John Deacon. Queen: Overview Queen was one of the most popular and successful rock groups during the 1970s and 80s, with a very unique, experimental style and sound, Queen has remained one of the best selling artists of all time. The band began its formation in 1967, when the guitarist Brian May and the drummer Roger Taylor joined with Tim Staffell to form a rock group named Smile. When Tim Staffell left the group, May and Taylor joined forces with Freddie Mercury and a bass player named John Deacon, resulting in the core version of the band in 1970. Queen was famous for bright, glam, “pomp-rock” and put on energetic shows. Freddie Mercury in particular was known for his flamboyant style. Their sound was a very produced and incorporated elements of glam rock, heavy metal, hard rock, and harmony. That he was able to maintain this status in spite of continued critical hostility, his flamboyant gender-bending androgyny, and questions about his sexuality is one of the more impressive accomplishments in the history of Freddie Mercury popular culture. He was also, arguably, the first Indian international rock star. performing in Hannover, Germany in 1984. Freddie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara in the British colony of Zanzibar, East Africa Photograph by Thomas (now part of Tanzania) on September 5, 1946. His parents were Parsees (Zoroastrian Steffan. Indians of Persian descent), and his father was employed in the British civil service. Image appears under the GNU Free Documentation License. From the age of six, he attended boarding school near Bombay, India, and showed a considerable aptitude for art and music. It was here that he was first called "Freddie" by his classmates. In 1964, the Bulsara family moved to England, where Freddie completed his education, graduating in 1969 from the Ealing College of Art with a diploma in art and design. Around this time he adopted the surname Mercury, naming himself after the messenger of the gods. After college, he sold second-hand clothes in trendy flea-markets, where he met future bandmate Roger Taylor, and joined Ibex, a local London group, as a vocalist and keyboard player.

So here I am, ranting on as I do. But I’m a musician, right? Yes, we’ll be seeing you out there in Sao Paulo and Rio and Buenos Aires and Santiago and Cordoba and Porto Alegre … how thrilling. It’s almost exactly 30 years since we headlined the very first Rock in Rio night—with Freddie, and John, of course, and now we return to a new young audience of rockers, with Adam, who I’m convinced they will adore.
