Adult cost is determined by the total number of scouts and adults attending. Adults will be notified roughly 2 weeks before camp.
Troop 68 Summer Camp DROP OFF/PICK UP INFORMATION DRIVING DIRECTIONS Troop 68 is located in Camp SANDY BEACH at the BACKWOODS campsite.
Drop Off: No troops will be allowed to move into their campsite until 5:30 PM on Sunday evening. Please do not arrive before 5:30 PM. At 5:30 PM, we will meet in the Sandy Beach parking lot to start bringing our gear to the camp site. Only one car is allowed in the site at a time and we will appreciate your patience as it takes time to shuttle everyone’s gear into the site.
There is no meal service on Sunday evening. Be sure to FEED YOUR SCOUT before arriving at camp. There are numerous eateries on Rt. 138 next to I-95.
Pick Up Day: At around 11:00 AM Troop 68 plans to hold a Court of Honor in our campsite. Parents are encouraged to arrive and visit our campsite at this time.
After the Court of Honor – while the scouts are packing up, eating lunch and preparing for closing ceremonies – parents and visitors relocate to Bucklin Memorial (main building) and the parade grounds. There is a great chicken BBQ (tickets available online at http://www.yawgoog.org or you can visit one of the eateries on route 138. Scouts are not allowed to attend the BBQ and are not dismissed until after the closing ceremonies.
At 12:45 PM, the dress parade and closing ceremonies take place at the field by the main building (near the BBQ). Be sure to bring a camera (and perhaps a folding chair). Scouts are dismissed immediately after closing ceremonies (approx. 1:30 PM).
Camper Mail: Mail from home is always appreciated. Camper mail should be addressed exactly as shown below:
