Biographical / Historical
Patricia Johannes, an assistant Michigan State University carillonneur, graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and a minor in music. She taught early elementary school for seventeen years, led elementary boy and church youth choirs, and served as a pianist in several churches. Johannes began her carillon studies with Ray McLellan in 1998. In addition to performing on the MSU carillon, Johannes has composed and arranged music for the instrument. Johannes plays weekly carillon recitals, sings in the MSU Choral Union, and is an editor for the Food Security Group at MSU.

Scope and Contents
The Patricia Johannes collection consists of the history of the Michigan State University Carillon and Beaumont Tower and MSU carillonneurs including biographic information, event information, articles, and photographs. Also included is sheet music that was arranged for the carillon, a thesis titled, "Carillon at Beaumont Tower" by Sally Harwood, and biographical information about a MSU carillonneur, William E. Vajda.
The folders are in chronological order from 1995 to 2017 and came originally from scrapbooks/binders. The original order has been preserved.
