Coombe Wood in the Past... How to get there.... Coombe Wood Location Conduit Lane, off Coombe Road (A212), . CR0 5RQ Coombe Wood was first opened to the public in 1948. It was the former garden of Coombe Wood House. Coombe Wood Tram supplied water to the Coombe Estate via three conduits Route 3, alight at or Coombe Lane stops, both of which ran along the adjacent lane hence the name Conduit which are a 10 minute walk from the site. The paths around the main gardens are level or have gentle slopes; through the rock garden and woodland they are uneven and unsuitable for wheelchairs and prams.
