The record champions of Greece also ended up disappointed after drawing 0-0 at home to Betis and then surrendering a lead to lose 3-1 in Italy. Previous meetings • Dudelange have never faced opposition from Greece in UEFA competition. • Olympiacos's one previous visit to the Grand Duchy, in the first round of the 1986/87 European Cup Winners' Cup, resulted in a 3-0 win over US Luxembourg; the Piraeus side had also won the first leg by the same score. Form guide Dudelange • The premier force in Luxembourg since the turn of the millennium, Dudelange won their 14th national championship last season, completing a hat-trick of titles. They narrowly lost this season's UEFA Champions League first qualifying round tie against Hungary's Vidi but made historic amends by subsequently overcoming Drita, Legia Warszawa and, in the play-offs, CFR Cluj to reach the UEFA Europa League group stage. • Dudelange's previous best European performance came in 2012/13, when they reached the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round before falling to Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the UEFA Europa League play-offs (1-3 home, 0-4 away). • Since then Dudelange have lost only two of ten home games in Europe (W3 D5) and although they drew a blank on matchday one against Milan, they had scored twice in all three home fixtures in this season's UEFA Europa League qualifying phase (W2 D1). Olympiacos • Last season Olympiacos surrendered the Greek Superleague title they had won in each of the previous seven campaigns, finishing third behind AEK Athens and PAOK and thus ending up in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round, where they handsomely defeated Luzern (4-0 home, 3-1 away) before seeing off Burnley in the play- offs (3-1 home, 1-1 away). • Although Olympiacos have been involved in the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa League on five occasions, this is only the second season in which they have participated in the group stage, their previous effort in 2016/17 having brought two wins, two draws and two defeats and qualification for the next round only on the head-to-head rule. • The Piraeus club lost all three fixtures on the road in last season's UEFA Champions League proper and are on a run of five successive away defeats in European group stage football, losing each of those matches by a two-goal margin. Links and trivia • Dudelange are one of five clubs playing in the UEFA Europe League proper for the first time this season – and the very first from Luxembourg, which has become the 39th nation to be represented in the competition's group stage. The coaches • The son of Klaus Toppmöller, the coach who led Bayer Leverkusen to the 2002 UEFA Champions League final, Dino had a lengthy career in Germany's lower leagues before ending it as a player-coach with Luxembourg side Hamm Benfica. Having steered the club to promotion, he joined Dudelange in 2016 and promptly won the Luxembourg double, adding a second league title in 2017/18 and then defying the odds to mastermind a landmark qualification for the UEFA Europa League group stage. • Pedro Martins was named Olympiacos coach in April 2018, becoming the club's fifth Portuguese boss in six years after Leonardo Jardim, Vítor Pereira, Marco Silva and Paulo Bento. He had not previously worked outside his homeland, his last three spells in the dugout before the move to Greece having brought UEFA Europa League qualification for Marítimo, Rio Ave and Vitória Guimarães. A holding midfielder, he was capped once by Portugal during a three-year spell with Sporting CP from 1995–98. 3 F91 Dudelange - Olympiacos FC Thursday 25 October 2018 - 18.55CET (18.55 local time) Match press kit Stade Josy Barthel, Luxembourg Team facts F91 Dudelange Formed: 1991 UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • None Domestic honours (latest triumph in brackets) League title: 14 (2018) Luxembourg Cup: 7 (2017) Ten-year European record (UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup unless otherwise indicated) 2017/18: UEFA Champions League second qualifying round 2016/17: UEFA Champions League second qualifying round 2015/16: first qualifying round 2014/15: UEFA Champions League second qualifying round 2013/14: first qualifying round 2012/13: play-offs (having transferred from UEFA Champions League third qualifying round) 2011/12: UEFA Champions League second qualifying round 2010/11: first qualifying round 2009/10: UEFA Champions League second qualifying round 2008/09: UEFA Champions League first qualifying round Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 7-0: Dudelange v Tre Penne 03/07/12, UEFA Champions League first qualifying round first leg • Biggest away win 0-4 twice, most recently v Tre Penne 10/07/12, UEFA Champions League first qualifying round second leg • Heaviest home defeat 1-6 three times, most recently v Rapid Wien 27/07/05, UEFA Champions League second qualifying round first leg • Heaviest away defeat 6-1 three times, most recently v Randers 01/07/10, UEFA Europa League first qualifying round first leg 5-0: Hajduk Split v Dudelange 12/08/99, UEFA Cup qualifying round first leg UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup • Biggest home win 2-0: Dudelange v CFR Cluj 23/08/18, play-off first leg • Biggest away win 2-3: CFR Cluj v Dudelange 30/08/18, play-off second leg 1-2: Legia v Dudelange 09/08/18, third qualifying round first leg • Heaviest home defeat 1-3: Dudelange v Hapoel Tel-Aviv 23/08/12, play-off first leg • Heaviest away defeat 6-1: Randers v Dudelange (see above) 5-0: Hajduk Split v Dudelange (see above) Olympiacos FC Formed: 1925 Nickname: Erythrolefki (Red and Whites), Thrylos (Legend) 4 F91 Dudelange - Olympiacos FC Thursday 25 October 2018 - 18.55CET (18.55 local time) Match press kit Stade Josy Barthel, Luxembourg UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • None Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) League title: 44 (2017) Greek Cup: 27 (2015) Ten-year European record (UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup unless indicated otherwise) 2017/18: UEFA Champions League group stage 2016/17: round of 16 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League third qualifying round) 2015/16: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League group stage) 2014/15: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League group stage) 2013/14: UEFA Champions League round of 16 2012/13: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League group stage) 2011/12: round of 16 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League group stage) 2010/11: third qualifying round 2009/10: UEFA Champions League round of 16 2008/09: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League third qualifying round) Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 6-1: Olympiacos v Besa 22/07/10, UEFA Europa League second qualifying round second leg 5-0 twice, most recently v Nordsjælland 02/10/08, UEFA Cup first round second leg • Biggest away win 0-5: Besa v Olympiacos 15/07/10, UEFA Europa League second qualifying round first leg • Heaviest home defeat 0-4: Olympiacos v Hamburg 03/11/82, European Champion Clubs' Cup second round second leg • Heaviest away defeat 7-0: Juventus v Olympiacos 10/12/03, UEFA Champions League group stage UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League • Biggest home win 6-1: Olympiacos v Besa (see above) 5-0: Olympiacos v Nordsjælland (see above) • Biggest away win 0-5: Besa v Olympiacos (see above) • Heaviest home defeat 1-3 three times, most recently v St-Étienne 18/02/09, round of 32 first leg • Heaviest away defeat 5-1: Dinamo Zagreb v Olympiacos 28/09/77, first round second leg 4-0 twice, most recently v Newcastle 16/03/05, round of 16 second leg 5 F91 Dudelange - Olympiacos FC Thursday 25 October 2018 - 18.55CET (18.55 local time) Match press kit Stade Josy Barthel, Luxembourg Squad list F91 Dudelange Current season All-time UCL QUAL UEL League UEL UEFA No.
