MARCH'N ON In his first two games as a Panther, Jonathan Marchessault has recorded four points (2-2-4). Marchessault notched the first Florida goal of the season on Thursday vs. NJD before recording a career-high three points (1-2-3) on Saturday vs. DET. In Thursday's contest, Marchessault also tied his career-high in shots on goal (6) set on March 19, 2016 (at ARI, w/TBL). Tonight, Marchessault will play his former team (TBL) for the first time in the regular season since signing with Florida on July 1, 2016. ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE BARK? Aleksander Barkov has goals in each of the first two games of the season for Florida, including Thursday's OT game-winner vs. NJD. BOYS OF SUMMER This past summer, the Panthers re-signed and extended five key players, while adding seven new players to the lineup. The Panthers signed four of their young core players to long-term contracts, including: forwards Jonathan Huberdeau (six years), Reilly Smith (five years), Vincent Trocheck (six years) and defenseman Aaron Ekblad (eight years). In 2015-16, Gallant led the Panthers to a franchise record 47 wins and 103 points securing an Atlantic Division title and the franchise’s first playoff berth since 2011-12. Under Gallant, Florida won a franchise-best 12 consecutive games from Dec. 15, 2015 - Jan. 10, 2016. He finished the season as a nominee for the 2016 Jack Adams Award.

Gallant previously served as head coach of Columbus (2003-2004 & 2005-2007) and served as an assistant coach with Montreal (2012-14), the New York Islanders (2007-09) and Columbus (2000-03).
