Minutes of District Scout Council Annual General Meeting Wednesday 19Th June 2019, 7:30Pm Minutes of District Scout Council Annual General Meeting Wednesday 19th June 2019, 7:30pm Milton Bryan Campsite Item Discussion and Decisions 1 Welcome By District Chairperson Steve Calder (SC) welcomed everyone to the District AGM for 2019, with a special welcome to Gerry Pope (ACC International). 2 Apologies For Absence A list of apologies from non-attendees was read out. A full list of attendees and apologies is attached to the end of these minutes. 3 Approval of the minutes of the AGM held on 28th June 2018 The minutes of the previous AGM were reviewed and were agreed to be correct. Proposed by Kenny Richards, seconded by Emma Panton. 4 To Receive And Approve The Annual Report Of The District Executive Committee, Including The Annual Statement Of Accounts For The Year Ended 31st December 2018 For most of 2018, the District was without a Treasurer; therefore SC had been acting Treasurer and as such presented the annual accounts. During the course of presenting the report it became apparent that some rows had become misaligned in the report, but his has not impacted the total Income and Expenditure summary. This has now been corrected and a copy of the updated report is attached to the end of these minutes. The following questions were received; answers are based on the corrected version of the report. Q: Question from floor regarding increase in badge revenue A: This relates to an increase in sale of badges Q: Question from floor regarding software / licences A: This relate to : PRS Performing Arts Licence the District requires to play live music OSM licences Q: Question from the floor regarding the £1,115 attributed to AGM expenditure A: This should have been assigned to training and was for an external supplier to deliver a first aid course. This took the stated training expenditure from £360 to £1475 Q: Question from the floor regarding the Grant expenditure A: This was a grant given to support members of the District attending Jamboree Q: Question from the floor regarding why no Explorer expenditure was recorded. A: This should have read £593 Other key points to note from the report are: The District is in the process of moving bank accounts from Barclays to Lloyds. Further information will be made available as this progresses. A new Financial Management Policy is being written. This will be made available for review by the end of 2019 quarter 3. Seconded by Tracey Merridan and duly elected as Chairperson 6 Election Of District Treasurer Emma Panton was co-opted as acting Treasurer during 2018. Nominated this year by Karen Calder, seconded by Brian Barrow and duly elected as Treasurer. 7 Election Of District Secretary There was no nomination for the post of Secretary. The search will continue and it was agreed they an appropriate person can be co-opted to the Executive when identified. 8 Approval Of The District Commissioner’s Nomination Of Members To The District Executive Committee MH’s nomination of Ruth Marienfeld and Brian Barrows was approved by the floor. Jonathan Smith nominated Peter Misson, seconded by Karen Calder 9 Election Of Nominations From The District Scout Council To Serve As Nominated Members Of The Bedfordshire County Scout Council Adult nomination: Jonathan Smith, seconded by Karen Calder Youth nomination: Harry Smith, seconded by Louise Rutt 10 Appointment Of Examiner For 2019 Natalie Coleman, was proposed by Steve Calder and seconded by Jonathan Smith. 11(a) DC’s Report MH presented the annual DCs report. A copy of this report is contained within the overall Annual Report. 11(b) Awards Gerry Pope (ACC International) presented an award on behalf of Bedfordshire County Scout Council to Ampthill and Woburn Explorers, in recognition of having the best membership growth rate in 2018. MH presented an Award/Medal of Merit to Steve Calder MH announced Karen Calder has been awarded the Silver Acorn – to be presented at a later date. 12 Closure of Meeting SC thanked everyone for attending. Special thanks were given to Dawn Britten for acting as the meeting secretary and taking the minutes. Meeting closed at 8.25pm.   • Chapter 10 Summary and Conclusions
    CHAPTER 10 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS This thesis represents an attempt to understand the glacial geology of the south Bedfordshire/north Hertfordshire area and its relationship to adjacent regions, and the course of events during the period relating to deposition of the glacigenic sediments. The objectives were: 1) To review previous research both from within the study area and adjacent areas and to assess the validity of the conclusions reached. 2) To gather new data on till deposits within the area. 3) To establish a local lithostratigraphic sequence. 4) Where possible, to correlate major units in this sequence with those in adjacent areas. 5) To reconstruct the glacial dynamics and glacial palaeogeography of the study area and to put this into a regional context. A total of 68 samples from 29 sites were selected. 27 samples were from boreholes not previously investigated within the area of the Hitchin Channel. Previous borehole data, especially to the north of Hitchin, are sparse and often rather dated, yielding vague and unreliable information. Thus the additional data from this study provided a valuable input to research. Macrofabric analyses were performed on 35 samples and the results were subjected to further statistical analysis in order to gain an insight into the depositional processes. The results suggest most of the tills within the study are deformed lodgement tills. This type is considered common above deformable bedrock (Hart et al., 1990) such as the Gault and Oxford Clays and the Woburn Sands present across a major part of the study area. Deformed lodgement tills were also found within the Hitchin and Stevenage Channels where they have been deposited above glacial sand, gravels or silt.

He was a very active member of the Parish Council for many years and the Parish Council would like to express their thanks for all the good work he did and his dedication to the Village. He will be very sadly missed. Cllr Richardson said that a tribute will need to be agreed to commemorate Robin’s life and commitment to the village and the Parish Council, Village Hall Committee and the Parochial Charity will need to discuss this. 1236 Matters Arising There were no matters arising. 1237 Reports and representations 1237.1 Central Beds Councillor Wells Cllr Wells said that the CBC budget consultation has now ended.
