Supporting the desire of older adults to remain in their communities as they age is a foundational goal of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities. An “age-friendly” community is a livable community, one that provides the services and supports that make the town, city or neighborhood a great place for people of all ages.
This resource guide was developed to support Age-Friendly communities in providing their residents with access to important resources. The guide is organized according to the “8 Domains of Livability” that have been found to be aspects of community life that are essential to the health and well-being of older adults.
