Since the last few decades, there has been an urgent need for intelligent computing in different fields of science and technology due to the flawless increment in data. Development in science and technology is authoritative to emerge the internal strength of the country. However, demonstrating the faults and methodologies of progress with an impartial lookout benefits to update the existing knowledge and technologies. In the current situation, all the areas of related disciplines of pattern recognition tools present adaptive systems which authorize the understanding of theory as well as data in some difficult and changing environments. The first international conference entitled “Computational Intelligence in Pattern Recognition” (CIPR-2019) is organized by Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, West Bengal, India, on 19 and 20 January 2019. The conference is directed towards the knowledge and structure of positive research in different applications of pattern recognition which are leading and governing the technological domain. CIPR has attracted more than 200 submissions based on the thematic areas. With thorough rigorous peer-review process, the editors have selected only 88 high-quality papers by the sophisticatedly knowledgeable domain expertise evaluators preferred from country and abroad. The papers are reviewed regarding the contribution, technical content, clarity and originality of some latest findings and research. The entire system (includes the submission of paper, review and acceptance process) is done electronically. We had a great time in collaboration with advisory committee, programme committee and technical committee for call for papers, and review and confirm papers for the proceedings of CIPR. The international conference CIPR aims at encircling new type of educators, technologists, researchers for global success. The conference features various keynote addresses in the scope of advanced information regarding CIPR topics. The sessions are largely categorized according to the significance and interdependency of the papers pertaining to the key concept of the conference, and they have established plentiful prospects for presentations. The accepted papers (both research and review papers) have been estranged to highlight the modern spotlight of computational intelligence techniques in pattern recognition. We anticipate the author’s individual study and estimations add value

xiii xiv Preface to it. The success of CIPR is the outcome of good quality research works on the current applications from the authors. We require an enormous time for putting together this proceeding. The CIPR conference is an acknowledgment to a vast collection of people, and everybody should feel proud of the outcome. We enlarge our deep sense of thankfulness to all those for this affectionate encouragement, motivation and support for building it attainable. Last but not least, the editorial members of Springer have helped us in an immense way to publish this proceeding in a graceful way. Hope all of us will be profusely thankful for the good assistance made and defend our hard work.

The key proposal and significance of the CIPR conference has been interested more than 200 academicians, professionals or researchers throughout the world facilitated as to prefer superior quality papers and offer to exhibit the reputation of the CIPR conference for original research findings, exchange of ideas and sharing of knowledge with precisely national and international communes in different aspects and fields of data analysis and pattern recognition. Heartfully thanks to all those who have offered in produces such an extensive conference proceedings of the CIPR. The level of eagerness demonstrates by the CIPR conference committee from day one is admiring and commendable. Organizing committee have assurance that the members of CIPR preserve a outstanding paradigm as we have reassessed papers, afford opinion and build a strong body of obtainable work in this assembly of proceeding. The astonishing strength and determination as shown by organizing committee in all phase throughout the conference deserves profusely thanks from our heart. We have been opportune adequately to work in with a luminous international as well as national advisory committee. The call for papers, reviewers in the papers and finalizing papers are accomplished by reviewers and technical committee consisting of eminent academicians to be included in the proceedings. All the submitted papers have been double blind peer re-evaluated before finalization as the accepted papers for oral presentation at the conference venue. We would like to convey our heartfelt thanks and responsibility to the compassionate reviewers for sparing their valuable time and putting in effort to re-evaluate the papers in a stipulated time and providing their supportive ideas and appreciations in brainstorming the presentation, content and quality of proceeding. The valuable these accepted papers is an immense admiring comment not only to authors but also to reviewers who have directed towards excellence. We want to profusely thank to Organizing committee members, International Advisory and Technical Committee members and all other Committee members for

xv xvi Acknowledgements their effortless support and cooperation to formulate this conference successful in all sense. Last but not the least, the editorial members of Springer publishing procure a special declare and our profound authentic gratitude to them not only for assembly our apparition come true in the form of proceeding but also for its luminous in-time and get-up publications in graceful, innovation intelligent scheme and technologies, Springer. The CIPR conference and proceedings are recognitions to an immense assem- blage of people and all should be advance of the outcome. About the Conference

The term Computational Intelligence refers to the ability of a computer to learn a specific task from data or experimental observation. It is a set of nature-inspired computational methodologies and approaches to address complex real-world problems to which mathematical modeling may not be effective. Computational Intelligence provides solutions to problems for which precise mathematical model cannot be formulated due to presence of uncertainties or the process of modeling might be stochastic in nature. On the other hand Pattern Recognition is the process of automated recognition of patterns and regularities in data. The conference Computational Intelligence in Pattern Recognition (CIPR) is aimed at applying computational intelligence to find pattern in data and to develop useful application. The conference will provide a common platform for presentation of original research findings, exchange of ideas and dissemination of innovative, practical development experiences in different aspects and fields of data analysis and pattern recognition. The conference also aims at bringing together the researchers, scien- tists, engineers, industrial professionals and students in this fascinating area of research. The conference also addresses rapid dissemination of important results in the field of pattern recognition, soft computing technologies, clustering and clas- sification algorithms, rough set and fuzzy set theory, evolutionary computations, neural science and neural network systems, image processing, combinatorial pattern matching, social network analysis, audio and video data analysis, data mining in dynamic environment, bioinformatics, hybrid computing, big data analytics, deep learning etc. It promotes novel and high quality research findings, innovative solutions to the challenging engineering problems. At the end of the conference, we anticipate that the participants will enhance their knowledge by latest perceptions and examinations on existing research topics from leading academician, researchers and scientists around the globe, contribute their own thoughts on significant research topics mentioned above as well as to networks and conspire with their international compeer.
