U16 Men & Women CBC Championships Date: April 22, 2 To: All CBC National Federations From: Glyne Clarke, President-CBC Re: U16 Men & women CBC championships Date: April 22, 2019 Dear Presidents, The Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) take this opportunity to inform you that at a Meeting of the CBC Executive Board on April 14th, the Executive decided the U16 CBC men and women championships will be rescheduled to 2020. Regretfully, the following factors have played a major influence in the decision:- • The Centro Basket tournament will be held in July 2019 in Puerto Rico. The teams have already been selected by the CBC and accepted for this tournament by FIBA Americas due to the requirements of the Championships, as such the CBC U16 can no longer be qualifiers. • The lack of a confirmed host for the CBC U16 men and women championships. • July and August 2019 already have a full slate of championships for the Americas and the ability to host the championships is already in jeopardy. The CBC commit to hosting these championships in 2020, which will be a qualifier for the 2021 Centro Basket. The National Federations that have already confirmed their intent to participate will be given another opportunity to reconfirm at a later date. The CBC regret any inconvenience caused as a result as this was not an easy decision taken by the Executive Board. We look forward to continuing our quest to have a confirmed host/s for these championships in the coming months and to the successful conduct of these championships. Best regards, CBC - CARIBBEAN BASKETBALL CONFEDERATION P.O. Box 172 BH, St. Michael BB14000, Barbados Tel: +1 (246) 230-8240 | Fax: +1 (246) 426-1998 [email protected] | caribbeanbasketball.com .

An excellent job by shooter Marcelinho Machado was key in the win by scoring 41 points, 30 of them in the first half. In 40 minutes played the star of Flamengo shot 10-12 from three point range and 11-16 from the free throw line. The 33 year old player was named the MVP of the tournament.
