Information about UK HS code after Brexit

Dear Perstorp customers,

In preparation for our new way of working after Brexit, this is an information letter to all our customers in the United Kingdom about how Perstorp will communicate HS codes on our customer documents after Brexit.

The 8 digits HS code in the last column of the table below will be printed on Perstorp standard export documents for each Perstorp product. If you will need more digits for your Customs Clearance, you and your appointed broker will be responsible to add the last two digits during the import procedure.

We have been asked by some customers to have a 10 digit HS code to be shown on documents. However, this is not possible as only 8 digits are listed in the UK Global Tariff table for most of our products. Even though there are 10 digits codes available for some materials, none of our products fit any of the 10 digits code descriptions.

Having 8-digit HS codes is also in line with our general export document handling procedure, therefore this will reduce the risks of error from having too many different versions.
