BASIC FUNCTIONALITY

GETTING STARTED

1. How do I Switch On the Timex | ? ● Press and hold the Touch Key for 4­5 seconds until the screen is switched On and displays “Timex | Blink”. ● If the display remains Off even after pressing the Touch Key, your Timex | Blink band might have run out of charge. Put the device on charge for 10 mins and try switching it on again.

2. How to turn the power off on my Timex | Blink band? Long press and hold the Touch Key until the screen is on and displays the power icon Tap on the Touch Key again to choose between the given options on the screen, followed by long press of the Touch Key to switch­off the Timex | Blink band.

CHARGING AND BATTERY

3. How do I charge my Timex | Blink band? To charge the device, insert the USB cable into the charging port on the back of the band and plug the other end of the USB connector with either a PC or a power adaptor to start charging. It is advisable to use a power adaptor of <2A for optimal results.

4. Where can I see the battery level of the band? You can see the approximate battery level of your band on its main screen. You can also see the exact battery level of the band in the menu bar of Timex | Blink iOS and Android App when the band and phone are connected.

5. What is the battery life for the band? Based on your usage, the band can last between 7­10 days when connected, and up to 15 days when it is not paired with the mobile device.

6. How long does it take for Timex | Blink band to be completely charged? It should ideally take anywhere between 1­1.5 hours for a complete charge. It also depends on the power source. Charging from laptop/desktop might take little longer than charging from a power adapter.

7. Can I use any USB charger to charge the band? You can use any 5V charging adapter from a certified manufacturer, along with a standard micro­USB cable with a current rating <2A to charge your band.

CONNECTING WITH YOUR PHONE

8. Why do I need to connect my Timex | Blink band with my phone? It is necessary to connect your band and phone to do a first­time­setup and use features like SOS, notification alert, find my device. Besides, you would be able to sync and view your fitness data on the mobile app.

9. How do I connect my Timex | Blink band with my mobile device? To connect your Timex | Blink band with your phone, download the app from Play Store (in case of Android) or App Store (in case of iPhone). You can then connect your band to your phone through the companion app. Please note that you need a Google ID to sign­in with the app.

10. From where can I download the Blink companion apps? Blink companion app for Android can be downloaded from Google Play Store or from iOS App store, depending on the platform your device supports.

11. Which mobile platforms is the Timex | Blink band compatible with? Timex | Blink band is compatible with both Android and Apple (iOS) devices: ● Android 4.4+ ● iOS 9.0+ The band will seamlessly pair with any mobile device running on these OS versions or above.

12. What hardware specifications would I need on my mobile device to pair the band? For your Timex | Blink Band to pair with your phone, your phone needs to have Bluetooth 4.0+. Without this, your mobile device will not be able to connect with the band.

BAND SETUP

13. I just purchased my Timex | Blink band. How do I set it up?

To set up your TIMEX | BLINK BAND and phone follow the steps given below ● Download the TIMEX | BLINK BAND app from the Play Store (if an Android user) or from the App Store (if an iOS user) ● Sign in into the app with your Gmail ID ● Ensure that the Location and Bluetooth on your phone is on ● Tap on the image of the Band that would have appeared on your phone screen ● You will now see the Start Setup page ● In iOS will receive another pairing request on your phone. Accept it to complete the pairing process ● The app will now take you through the setup of various features of your band ● Enter the desired emergency contact for you to be able to send SOS in a moment of distress, Set an alarm on your band & enter the data on the fitness page and the set goals ● Tap on ‘Start Experiencing’ to complete setup ● To know more about improving connectivity between your band and phone, do checkout the Support tab.

14. Will the Timex | Blink band work without my phone? Yes, the Timex | Blink band will work without the phone as well, and you can use time & fitness related features. However, it is necessary to be connected with the phone to do a first time setup; and use features like SOS, notification alert, find my device. Besides, to fitness sync data between Band and the app, you need Band to be connected to the phone.

FEATURES

SOS

15. How do I trigger SOS through my Timex | Blink band? Long tap on the screen to reach the SOS Trigger mode. Once the function mode is opened, you can choose the SOS icon to initiate SOS through the band. The device communicates through the paired smartphone using internet to send a distress message along with your last registered GPS location via SMS and Email to a set of contacts numbers mentioned on your Timex | Blink App.

When you trigger the SOS, the band waits for an accurate location and tries to contact your guardians twice with all your details. In case it is not able to get a location, it will still send out the distress message without the location.

16. Can I send an SOS when my Timex | Blink band is not connected to the phone? No, you won’t be able to send SOS if your Band and phone are not connected. Connectivity between Timex | Blink band and phone app, active internet connection on your phone and added guardian details are a prerequisite when trying to send an SOS.

17. What will happen if the band was unable to send the SOS?

When a SOS is initiated but is not delivered successfully to the emergency contact, you get a notification about the failed attempt on your phone.

You will not be able to send a SOS in following scenarios: ● If phone and band are not connected ● If you have not given Guardian details in the app ● If your phone has no internet connectivity

In the scenario that you have stopped your location services, the band will send an SOS to your contacts, but w ithout your exact location.

At any time for the SOS to be successfully delivered, please ensure that your band and phone are connected and the phone has an active internet connection.

NOTE: While we make every attempt to send an SOS to your guardians, there may be unforeseen scenarios in which we are not able to trigger an SOS...

FITNESS

18. Do I have to manually Sync data between Timex | Blink band and my phone? You can open the Fitness Page on the app and the app will trigger a sync automatically. Else, you can “Swipe down” on the Fitness Page to sync data.

Note: For the data sync to happen between the band and the phone, they both need to be connected.

19. How do I see my historical fitness data?

You can check all your Fitness data from the start in the app. To access the data, go to preferences: ● Choose Fitness ● Tap on the circular graph on top to see your progress for the day for Steps, Calories, Active Hours and Sleep.

20. Can I calibrate fitness data to correct the calculated distance and calories? Yes, you can calibrate the fitness data on your app. Stride length differs from person to person depending on the height and leg length. To make the the tracking of your fitness data more accurate, you can change the stride length on the app.

21. Can I share my fitness data on social media? You can share the Fitness data or an accomplishment with your friends by using the share button on the app. To share , ● Go to Share in the preferences ● Here you can choose between selecting a photo from your Gallery, taking a picture or choosing one of the posters available on the app. ● Click next and select the achievement you want share followed by selecting the platform (Facebook, Instagram, , Whatsapp etc. where you want to share...

22. How do I edit my fitness profile and goals? To make changes to your Fitness profile and goals, go to preferences and choose Fitness Profile. Here you can make changes to the Age, Sex, Height and Weight.

You can also change your Fitness Goals from the preferences. Choose Fitness Goal and make changes to your Steps Goal, Active Calories Goal, Active Hour Goal and Sleep Goal.

SLEEP & ACTIVITY REMINDER

23. How do I see my sleep data? The sleep data is available on the Fitness page under the title Sleep Duration. While on the Fitness page, you will be able to see the the percentage of the goal achieved. On opening ‘Sleep Duration’ by tapping you can track the sleeping hours per day.

24. How can I calibrate my sleep data? You can calibrate your sleep data by changing the Start Time and End Time in the Activity Reminder available in Preferences. T his settings helps us know what your waking hours are so we can accurately detect your sleep time.

ALARM

25. How do I set an alarm on the band? You can set an alarm on the band by choosing Alarm option in the menu. There is an option of setting maximum two alarms. You can also repeat the alarm by choose the days of the week when the alarm is required at that particular time.

26. Can I snooze an alarm from the band?

Yes, the Alarm snoozes on the band when left unattended. It snoozes once before going off completely.

FIND MY BAND/PHONE

27. How does find my phone or find my band work? You can find your phone using Timex | Blink band and vice versa. Timex | Blink band comes with ‘Find My Phone’ feature. Also, the companion app in your phone will have ‘Find My Band’ feature.

NOTIFICATIONS 28. Can I check my call and SMS notifications on the band?

Your band alerts you every time there is a notification or a call, through vibration on the device. However, you won’t be able to read the notification or accept/reject a call from the band.

DESIGN & USAGE

29. What is the case and strap material for the Timex | Blink band? The Outer Casing of Timex | Blink band is made of Stainless Steel; and available in Steel, Black and Rose­Gold colors. The device comes with multiple strap options; which are made of Italian Leather, Stainless Steel or Silicone; depending on the variants.

30. Can I change the strap of my Timex | Blink band? The straps of Timex | Blink band have a quick release mechanism, allowing them to be easily swapped. In fact, every unit of Timex | Blink band comes with a complimentary strap. Since the device uses standard 14mm watch­straps, users can also purchase the strap of their choice from our sales outlets ­ both physical and online.

31. What is the warranty for Timex | Blink band? Timex | Blink band is covered under One Year manufacturing warranty. However, the warranty does not cover accidental damages like screen damage, wear and tear of the strap which. If any user case damage to the device requires a repair, it will be chargeable on a case­to­case basis.

32. Is my Timex | Blink band water resistant? Your Timex | Blink band is splash­proof and water resistant. You can freely use it while indulging in activities like washing hands or going out in a light drizzle. However, it is not advisable to keep it immersed in water for a prolonged period. In case the band gets wet, ensure you dry it thoroughly before putting it on.

II. TROUBLESHOOTING

33. Why is my band and phone not connected? Timex Blink Band and your Phone stay connected through Bluetooth Low Energy technology and the Timex Blink App on your Phone. There are several reasons why your Band and Phone may not be connected. ● Out of range: Your band and phone will stay connected if they are within 15 feet from each other. ● BT is off: If the bluetooth on your phone is turned off or your band is off, the phone app and TIMEX | BLINK Band will not be connected ● App is terminated: If the Phone app is terminated manually or by the system, the band and phone will get disconnected ● App is missing the required permissions: Revoking specific permissions from the Phone app can lead to a disconnect between your band and phone

34. What do I do to ensure that my Phone and band stay connected?

You can ensure that your Phone and band are seamlessly connected:

● Bluetooth should be enabled on your phone For your phone and band to be connected, it is necessary that Bluetooth is on in your phone.

● GPS/Location services and Location permission should be enabled Please ensure that your Location/GPS is enabled on the phone. Also, please check if Location Permission is enabled on the your phone

Settings­­>Apps­­>YYY­­­>Permission­­>Location

● If your Band is connected to another device If your Band is connected to some other device, please disconnect the two and then pair it with the device you intend to use with the band.

● It is important for the app to be functional in the background. At any point for uninterrupted connectivity between phone app and the band, please ensure you do not kill the app, ir respective of being an Android or an iOS user

● When using an Android device It is recommended to not kill or shut the background app in the phone to ensure uninterrupted connectivity between your Phone and Timex | Blink Band

● When using an iOS device It is recommended to not kill or shut the background app in the phone to ensure uninterrupted connectivity between your Phone and Timex | Blink Band

● Android Phones with Custom OS Phones running on custom OS (for e.g., Xiaomi, Lenovo, Oppo, Vivo, Micromax), have an option which when enabled, restricts the background activity of the app when in low power mode. To allow Timex | Blink app in the background despite of being in low power mode go to:

Phone Settings­­>Battery/Power Mode­­>Background App Management→ Allow Timex | Blink app.

For example, if you are a Xiaomi Users:

To enable the smooth running of Timex | Blink app with your Xiaomi Phone, follow the steps given below:

● Go to the Battery option of Phone Settings ● In Battery open, Manage apps’ battery usage ● if power saving mode is on, go to choose apps and remove Timex | Blink App from the list

If you are a Lenovo Users:

To enable the smooth running of Timex | Blink app with your Lenovo Phone, follow the steps given below:

● Go to the Power Manager option of Phone Settings ● In Power Manager, open Background App Management ● In Background App Management mode is on, unrestrict Timex | Blink App from the list

If none, of the above mentioned things work, please restart the band and try connecting the band and the phone.

35. Notification alert is not working on my Timex | Blink band? In case of Timex | Blink band not alerting you when a notification comes,

● Turn the phone’s Bluetooth Off and On, and then try again ● Go to Preferences­­>Notifications­­>Enable Notification Access ● If you are an Android user, check if the notification access is granted. To check the same, Go to settings­­>Sound and notification­­>Advanced­­>Enable Notification access for Blink.

36. I am triggering SOS but it’s not being sent by the band? To ensure the SOS works seamlessly, make sure paired App is running in the background. Please note it is not necessary that you stay on the App page, but it is important that the app keeps running in the background and not killed by the phone OS or manually.

37. How do I sync the fitness data if it is not happening automatically? Make sure the phone app and the Timex | Blink band is connected. Once the phone and the band are connected, the data sync will happen automatically. In case, the automatic sync is still not happening, refresh the App by swiping down on the fitness page of the App.

38. How do I correct the steps, distance and calorie data for the band? You can correct or make the distance and calorie data more accurate by calibrating data in the phone app. Stride length differs from person to person depending on the height and leg length. Go to preferences, open calibration and change the stride length on the app.

Note: Using the Timex Blink Band in conditions with high vibration may lead to miscalculation of steps, and consequently distance and calories.

39. How do I correct the sleep data for the band? You can correct the sleep data in the band by going to the Preferences­­>Activity Reminder­­>Setting End time as your sleep time. This tell the band what your Active Timings and Sleep Timings are which leads to improved accuracy in sleep tracking.

Note: Leaving the band on the table can lead to addition to the Sleep data due to no motion of the band.

40. The fitness data on my band and phone are not matching. What do I do? The Fitness data on your band and phone will not match when the two are disconnected. Please connect the phone app and the band and refresh the Fitness page by swiping down on the screen. There may be other scenarios in which a Timezone, or Time Change on your Phone causes a mismatch between the band and phone.

41. Why is the contact name not visible on the band when I receive a call? For the contact name to be visible on the band while receiving a call, you have to give permission to the app to access contacts. Go to preferences in the app and open notifications. In the notifications, enable CONTACTS ACCESS.

42. My band got submerged in water. What do I do? Your Timex | Blink band is splash­proof and water resistant. You can freely use it while indulging in activities like washing hands or going out in a light drizzle. However, it is not advisable to keep it immersed in water for a prolonged period. In case the band gets wet, ensure you dry it thoroughly before putting it on. In case it still remains non functional, please visit the nearest TIMEX store.
