L 195/94 EN Offi cial Jour nal of the European Union 19.6.2020 COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING DECISION (EU) 2020/860 of 18 June 2020 amending the Annex to Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU concerning animal health control measures relating to African swine fever in certain Member States (notified under document C(2020) 4177) (Text with EEA relevance) THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, Having regard to Council Directive 89/662/EEC of 11 December 1989 concerning veterinary checks in intra-Community trade with a view to the completion of the internal market (1), and in particular Article 9(4) thereof, Having regard to Council Directive 90/425/EEC of 26 June 1990 concerning veterinary checks applicable in intra-Union trade in certain live animals and products with a view to the completion of the internal market (2), and in particular Article 10(4) thereof, Having regard to Council Directive 2002/99/EC of 16 December 2002 laying down the animal health rules governing the production, processing, distribution and introduction of products of animal origin for human consumption (3), and in particular Article 4(3) thereof, Whereas: (1) Commission Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU (4) lays down animal health control measures in relation to African swine fever in certain Member States, where there have been confirmed cases of that disease in domestic or feral pigs (the Member States concerned). The Annex to that Implementing Decision demarcates and lists certain areas of the Member States concerned in Parts I to IV thereof, differentiated by the level of risk based on the epidemiological situation as regards that disease. -

‘THE HEALTHY MUNICIPALITY’ “Policies for enhancing access to Health Services in deprived Areas” Transnational Meeting & Project Steering Committee Fillyra-Municipality of Arriana (GR) - January 8th 2019 It is located on the northeastern part of the Regional Unit of Rodopi and it covers an area of 771,18 sq. km. while its population is 18.259 inhabitants It was created in its current form due to the implementation of the "Kallikratis" reform (Law3 852/2010) as the former municipalities of Fillyra and Arriana were merged along with the former communities of Kechros and Organi. It now consists of 4 ‘municipal units’, which correspond to the 4 merged former entities. The seat is the commune of Fillyra, with a population of 1,041 inhabitants which is located in the middle between the cities Komotini and Alexandroupolis. The morphology of the municipality is mainly semi-mountainous and mountainous The inhabitants of the municipality of Arriana are mainly employed in the primary sector, namely agriculture and livestock. Local agriculture includes tobacco, cereals and alfalfa as their main crops, along with horticultural areas and a small number of tree crops According to the data of the 2011 statistical analysis, 74% of its population is employed in the primary sector and this percentage shows the high dependence of the Municipality's economy on the agri-food sector The secondary sector employs a small part of the population mainly in small-size units and Equally small is the part of the population dealing with the tertiary sector, namely with trade and services The largest wind-farm in Greece and the Balkans with more than 140 windmill turbines at an altitude of 1000 meters is located in the Municipality of Arriana. -

27.4.2021 EN Offi cial Jour nal of the European Union L 143/11 COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) 2021/687 of 26 April 2021 amending Annex I to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/605 laying down special control measures for African swine fever (Text with EEA relevance) THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2016/429 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016 on transmissible animal diseases and amending and repealing certain acts in the area of animal health (‘Animal Health Law’) (1), and in particular Article 71(3) thereof, Whereas: (1) African swine fever is an infectious viral disease affecting kept and wild porcine animals and can have a severe impact on the concerned animal population and the profitability of farming causing disturbance to movements of consignments of those animals and products thereof within the Union and exports to third countries. (2) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/605 (2) was adopted within the framework of Regulation (EU) 2016/429, and it lays down special disease control measures regarding African swine fever to be applied for a limited period of time by the Member States listed in Annex I thereto, in the restricted zones listed in that Annex. The areas listed as restricted zones I, II and III in Annex I to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/605 are based on the epidemiological situation of African swine fever in the Union. Annex I to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/605 was amended by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/623 (3), to ensure the continuity and consistency of special disease control measures regarding African swine fever in the Union following the expiry of Commission Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU (4), and the commencement of application of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/605 on 21 April 2021. -

15.4.2021 EN Offi cial Jour nal of the European Union L 129/1 II (Non-legislative acts) REGULATIONS COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) 2021/605 of 7 April 2021 laying down special control measures for African swine fever (Text with EEA relevance) THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2016/429 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016 on transmissible animal diseases and amending and repealing certain acts in the area of animal health (‘Animal Health Law’ (1)), and in particular Article 71(3) thereof Whereas: (1) African swine fever is an infectious viral disease affecting kept and wild porcine animals and can have a severe impact on the concerned animal population and the profitability of farming causing disturbance to movements of consignments of those animals and products thereof within the Union and exports to third countries. In the event of an outbreak of African swine fever, there is a risk that the disease agent may spread between establishments of kept porcine animals and in the metapopulations of wild porcine animals. The spread of the disease can significantly affect the productivity of the farming sector due to both direct and indirect losses. (2) Since 1978, the African swine fever virus has been present in Sardinia, Italy, and since 2014 there have been outbreaks of that disease in other Member States as well as in neighbouring third countries. Currently, African swine fever can be considered as endemic disease in the populations of porcine animals in a number of third countries bordering the Union and it represents a permanent threat for populations of porcine animals in the Union. -
