Dan Sisto Speaks at Simon

On May 20, 2009, the Simon Medical Management program hosted Dan Sisto, president of the Healthcare Association of State, in Gleason Hall.

Steve Goldstein, C.E.O. of Strong Memorial and Highland Hospitals and former chairman of the board of H.A.N.Y.S., introduced Sisto, whose presentation focused on reforms of the health care industry on the horizon.

In addition to discussing the implications of reform for health care providers, Sisto shared his insights into the political processes driving reform.

There were more than 150 attendees at Sisto’s presentation and the subsequent networking reception, including alumni, students and from Simon’s Medical Management and M.B.A. programs, as well as executives from local health care organizations. Lights! Camera! Medical Management!

The Medical Management program, in conjunction with Simon Marketing and Communications and Simon IT, is producing a video presentation to further enhance its marketing initiatives. Current and former students, as well as health care executives, have gone on camera to offer their perspectives on the benefits and rewards of the Simon Medical Management program. The video will be used at recruitment events, and selected clips will also be available to view on the Web site. Many thanks to those who participated.

Replace Yourself Recruiting Raffle: Garmin G.P.S. Giveaway

We were impressed and delighted with the response to the Replace Yourself Recruiting Raffle. Fourteen current and former students submitted the names of 18 prospective Medical Management Program students. The winner of the first draw was Matt Klapetzky, who exerted himself enthusiastically on the Program’s behalf.

In the second draw, three names were drawn from the list of submitters whose suggested recruits completed applications for the Medical Management program. Rory Doolan, Jaclyn Wilmarth, and yes, Matt Klapetzky, will each receive a G.P.S.

Finally, each submitter whose prospective student is accepted into the program and confirms her or his enrollment will receive a G.P.S.
