GarageBand - Creating a Podcast 1. Open GarageBand and Select “New Project” 2. Choose “Podcast” 3. Name your new project, making sure “Where” is GarageBand, and then Create. !!!!!!!!! 4. Select male or female voice track. ! 5. Tap R (on your keyboard) to begin recording. Tap Spacebar to stop recording. 6. Tap enter/return key to move to the beginning. Tap Spacebar to play. GarageBand 10/14/11 CK Adding Music 7. Select the Jingles track. 8. Select the Loops in the lower right corner. 9. Open a Jingle category to preview loops and to drag and drop the audio file to the Jingles track. (To preview: Single click on the name of the loop you wish to preview. Use the arrow keys to navigate up and down the list for multiple previewing.) 10. You may add more than one track as needed, or put multiple loops on the same track. 11. If you wish to have loops overlap others, create a separate track. 12. Loops can be moved within the tracks by clicking and dragging horizontally. 13. Loops can be shortened or elongated by clicking on desired track and dragging the edge of the track for the desired length. 14. Within each track are controls: !!!!!! ! Mute or unmute the track !!!!! Solo or unsolo the track !! ! !!!! GarageBand 10/14/11 CK Sharing and Exporting 15. You can use Share to send your podcast to iTunes 16. ....or Export your podcast 17. Be sure to double-check the name of your podcast and change the export location to Desktop for easy access. 18. Once the podcast file is on your desktop, you can select the application in which to open it by clicking once on the podcast file, go to File, Get Info, and change the “Open with” application from iTunes to QuickTime Player GarageBand 10/14/11 CK .
