Letter from the President The last few months have been a busy time for the Sanford Historical Society. Log Cabin day was on the last Sunday in June and approximately 55 people attended and visited the log cabin. A wedding took place at the covered bridge with 61 participants. Work is continuing on the grant project and should come to a close in the next several months. A stump puller was donated to the museum (in parts) and thanks to the work by the Site Committee the stump puller has been re-assembled and set up behind the implement building. Several other donations have been received and are listed in another section of the newsletter. Preparations are underway for the upcoming Train Day event which will be August 6 from 11 am to 4 pm on the museum grounds. The Sanford Historical Society meets on the third Wednesday of the month from April through November at 7:00 PM at the Sanford Village Hall, 106 Lincoln Street or in the Historic Depot on the grounds of the Museum. Members and visitors are always welcome. Annual membership dues are $10 for an individual and $15 for a family.
