WESTERN WASHINGTON HOUND ASSOCIATION / ENTRIES CLOSE 7/18/2012 – 1 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. • the AKC will collect a $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee on each entry of a dog, and 50 cent Recording Fee for the first entry of a dog in all AKC licensed and member dog shows, obedience trials, and tests. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Recording Fee to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC Rule. Ch.11, Sec. 2). In accordance with AKC Rally regulations, the AKC will collect a $3.00 per entry of dog Rally Event Service Fee. Neither the club nor its Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. • Only dogs eligible for these events will be admitted into show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. • LOSS OR DAMAGE – The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor’s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. • Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. • tROPHIES & PRIZES will be awarded in the ring to the person exhibiting the dog. Stud Dog & Brood Bitch: For Stud Dogs/Brood Bitches and their Get/Produce. Stud Dog/Brood Bitch must be entered in the Stud Dog/Brood Bitch Class and must be shown in the ring with their get/produce. The owner of the stud dog/brood bitch need not necessarily be owner of the get/ roduce. While the merits of the stud dog/brood bitch are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the stud dog/brood bitch must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard of the breed. Get/Produce must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed Competition, or some other Non-Regular class. Brace Class: Two dogs, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in the brace class must have at least one common owner. Dogs do not need to be entered in any other class. Dogs comprising a Brace Class must be named at the time of entry, and full particulars must be given for each dog on individual entry forms. If a dog which is to be part of a Brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for “Brace Class only.” An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as part of a Brace must be marked accordingly in the space provided for additional classes as “Brace Class.” Note: As the judge’s decision in Stud Dog, Brood Bitch and Brace will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won the class. Ch. 11, Sec. 8 of the “Rules Applying to Dog Shows” provides that “a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.” SWEEPSTAKES – Afghan hounds Only – Judge: Dean D’Aquila. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION – EACH DAY NOVICE CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class in a licensed or member show, with competition present in the Novice class. Juniors which according to their records have completed the requirements to compete in the Open class but whose status is unconfirmed by the American Kennel Club are limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records. MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be November 1 - October 31 of the following year. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. Novice AND OPEN Class divided: Junior-9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show; Intermediate-12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show; Senior-15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show. USE OF RAMPS At the sole discretion of the judge, approved breeds may be examined on the ground or on a ramp: Basset Hounds are expected to be judged on the ramp during breed judging, and is encouraged during group judging. Whippets may be examined on the ground, on a table or on a ramp. For the judging of Juniors, the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp breeds. This list may be revised from time to time, and the current list can be found on the AKC website in Judging Operations. A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give reasonable notice to the Show Superintendent/Show Secretary prior to the day of the show. AKC approval is not required. Ramps may be used in emergency situations to judge any breed. (In all but emergency situations, the exhibitor has no recourse. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund.)

DIRECTIONS TO SHOW SITE Do not use Lake Holm Road. It has load restrictions and tight turns that make it impossible for an RV. From I-5 or Highway 167: Take Highway 18 heading EAST. From Highway 18 (either direction), take the Auburn Black Diamond exit. At the stop sign, turn Right onto Auburn Black Diamond Road. Continue on Auburn Black Diamond Road for 7.6 miles until you get to intersection of 218th Avenue SE. Turn Right and cross SE Green Valley Road. Argus Ranch will be on your left.

EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE Animals left in vehicles will be monitored. If animals are in distress due to heat or any other circumstance, the vehicle will be forcibly entered, the animal recovered and the owner cited.
