Ballroom Dance Lessons

Tom & Betty continue teaching the polka in February. Classes are from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM in the Mimosa Room. The February dates are Thursday, February 4th and Thursday, February 18th. The polka originated in central Europe in the middle of the 19th century in what is now the Czech Republic. However, it quickly spread throughout Central Europe and was introduced in Paris in 1840. It soon spread to London and was introduced in America in 1844. It was a popular ballroom dance until the late 19th Century when it gave way to the two-step. Polish refugees after World War II created a resurgence in polka dancing in the US and polka dances are still held weekly in many communities in the US and around south . So join us for a fun time, some great exercise and lots of social Interaction with your friends and neighbors. Tom & Betty Arbaugh #1814. 5 I Am Attending: Yes / No 1st Thursday Atrium Art Walk

I’ll not wear purple when I’m old. It is too cold. Instead, I’ll wear red To remind me of the blood Of soldier’s wounds I’ve bound, And children’s skinned knees I’ve found to mend. Red is for a cardinal’s wings Against the snow And for the song it sings. Roses from my lover’s hand That made my heart glow All command that I wear red. Red is fire’s dancing flames Reflected on a wall that’s dark Where I can see the shadows Of life’s memories That have left their mark Upon a life that was bereft; So, I’ll wear Valentine red In all the time that I have left.

Wood work has always been a fun thing to do But occasionally I like to write a thing or two.

When working with wood you can put pieces Together & make something attractive & enjoyable to see & that is the way it will always be.

But when writing poems I have a hard time Finding the right words & putting them Together in a way to produce the same Result don’t you see?

Since I am not having much luck writing This poem, I guess I will just put the paper & pencil down & go on home.
