Te Anau is a town in the Southland region of the of New Zealand and is the Gateway to Fiordland. It is on the eastern shore of Lake Te Anau and boarders the Fiordland National Park, it is the gateway to a wilderness area famed for tramping, hunting, fishing and spectacular scenery.

Lake Te Anau is the largest lake in the South Island. Many families and tourists come to Te Anau to visit the famous nearby fiords of Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound.
