We have our competition schedule set for the season, and we are excited to travel to Winter Classic in Oxford, Ohio, this year. We love the facility and we are looking forward to all of our teams and skaters heading there to make memories together. Parent groups continue to seek financial support in the hope of a new arena here in the Bay Area. It’s humorous that so many people think that Northern California, or the San Francisco Bay area, isn’t a place where skaters originate, but the truth is that numerous Olympians have hailed from this area, including many who started right here in ISI District 14 programs. The 2016 District 14 Championships, once again held at Tahoe Sports & Entertainment in beautiful South Lake Tahoe, had a record number of skaters. MOST INTERESTING MOMENT ON THE JOB “I was making ice during an AHL game, and the team’s game crew was out shooting T-shirts into the seating. As I was driving the resurfacer, they shot a shirt and it hit the top of the glass and bounced back under the machine, and the machine won. It ate that shirt right up and took me 30 minutes to remove it. It was pretty comical for all watching!”
