LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ACT 1979 I, MICHAEL CHARLES ELMORE (MITCHELL) EVANS, Returning Officer, hereby direct pursuant to subsection 14(4) of the Legislative Assembly Act 1979, that a poll be taken on 29 November 2001 of the candidates whose name, with the names of their nominators, are specified hereunder in the order, determined by lot pursuant to subsection 19(2) of that Act, in which they shall appear on the ballot paper.

NORFOLK ISLAND ARMISTICE DAY SERVICE 11 NOVEMBER 2001 In commemoration of Armistice Day, a brief service will be held at the Cenotaph, Kingston at 11:00 am Sunday 11 November 2001 at which the community and visitors are invited to be present.

Ex-Service men and women are asked to be in attendance by 10:40 am. Medals will be worn. The traditional two minutes silence will be observed at 11:00 am.

AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL ELECTION Members of the Norfolk Island community and visitors to the Island who are on the Commonwealth electoral roll are reminded that there will be a Federal election on Saturday 10 November 2001.

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has gazetted the Office of the Administrator as a pre-poll booth from Monday 5 November 2001 to Friday 9 November 2001 during the hours of 9.00am to 4.00pm. This will enable all eligible voters, including those enrolled for the Division of , to vote during that period if they wish.

The Office of the Administrator will also operate as a polling booth on Saturday 10 November 2001 from 8.00am to 6.00pm.

Eligible residents and visitors who have already made a decision about their vote are encouraged to vote during the pre- poll period to avoid delays on polling day.

PROBATE AND ADMINISTRATION ACT 1976 REVOCATION OF APPOINTMENT AND APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY CURATOR OF ESTATES OF DECEASED PERSONS I, David Ernest Buffett, Minister for Immigration and Community Services, under subsection 8(2) of the Administration and Probate Ordinance 1929 of the Australian Capital Territory in its application to Norfolk Island by virtue of section 4 of the Probate and Administration Act 1976, hereby:

(a) revoke the appointment of CHERYL MARIE LECREN as Deputy Curator of Estates of Deceased Persons; and
