(040) 853 88 888 ∙ www.fkpscorpio.com PRESSEMITTEILUNG 07.07.2021 Dodie im Frühjahr 2022 auf Tour in Deutschland Der Titel ihres Erstlingswerkes stammt aus einer Songzeile des Liedes „Hate Myself“, einem von vielen herausragenden Songs dieses Werkes. Nachdem Dodie vor zwei Jahren ihre EP „Human“ veröffentlicht und damit den Kern ihres kreativen Outputs gleich direkt im Titel eingeführt hatte – nämlich sich mit dem Menschsein und dessen Problemen zu befassen – erschien ihr der Titel „Build A Problem“ plausibel, dasselbe Thema nochmal neu anzugehen. Auf „Build A Problem“ gehe es um Momente und Handlungen im Leben, die in uns all die Probleme aufbauen, von denen wir nicht wissen, dass wir sie haben – bis wir eines Tages zurückblicken und merken, wo gewisse Dinge herrühren. „Cool Girl“, die aktuelle Single vom Debüt der 25-Jährigen, gab bereits im Vorfeld einen Vorgeschmack auf das, womit Dodie letztendlich den weltweiten Musikmarkt erobert. „Cool Girl ist ein Song über unangebrachten Ärger“, so die Musikerin. „Konkret geht es in diesem Lied darum, die Kommunikation deiner Bedürfnisse in einer Beziehung zu unterdrücken, um cool und liebenswert zu sein. Das ist bitter, verzweifelt, frustrierend, entschlossen und ungesund“. Mit „Build A Problem“ liefert Dodie ein ausgesprochen ambitioniert arrangiertes Studioalbum, das sie aber trotzdem intim und ein Stück weit verwundbar zeigt .
