New York City attracts 52 million tourists annually. Visitor spending has increased 70% since 2010. New York City is also home to more than 57 billionaires and 720,000 millionaires, making it the wealthiest city in the country. Fifth Avenue is one of the most trafficked streets and produces some of the highest retail sales in the world. Additionally, the New York Metropolitan Area leads the nation in its population of ultra high net worth individuals with 7,720 people in the area with a net worth of $30 million or more. 608 Fifth Avenue sits in the heart of the largest office market in the world. Approximately 410 million square feet of office space exists in New York City, of which 392 million is located in Manhattan. Manhattan’s office inventory is greater than the next 5 largest U.S. markets combined and features some of the most iconic and desired office properties in the world. 608 Fifth Avenue’s central location in the Midtown Manhattan submarket places it at the epicenter for business and activity in the world. 11 T H E R E T A I L O P P O R T U N I T Y 608 FLOOR PLAN 49TH STREET 139'- 5” GROUND LEVEL UP DN FIFTH AVENUE 58'- 7” DN DN FR 2ND UP FR C DN TO C UP TO 2ND FE UP DN AvaILABLE Space: 10,172 SF CEILING HEIGHT: 17’-4” 14 FLOOR PLAN 49TH STREET SECOND LEVEL FIFTH AVENUE DN FR 3RD TO 3RD UP OPEN TO DN DN TO 1ST BELOW UP OPEN TO UP FR 1ST BELOW FE UP DN ROOF BELOW AvaILABLE Space: 11,565 sf CEILING HEIGHT: 18’-6” 15 FLOOR PLAN 49TH STREET THIRD LEVEL ROOF BELOW FIFTH AVENUE UP UP FE DN DN TO 2ND DN TO UP FR 2ND UP ROOF BELOW AvaILABLE Space: 10,750 sf CEILING HEIGHT: 12’-6” 16 FLOOR PLAN 49TH STREET CELLAR LEVEL FIFTH AVENUE UP DN UP TO 1ST DN FR 1ST FE UP DN AvaILABLE Space: 11,800 sf CEILING HEIGHT: 15’-3” 17 ABOUT VORNADO Realty TRUST LEASING INFORMATION Vornado Realty Trust is a preeminent owner, manager and developer of office, retail and residential assets. Early last century, industrial piers stretched up the Hudson River from the Battery to the Upper West Side. Most respectable New Yorkers shied away from the working waterfront and therefore lived toward the middle of the island. But in today’s postindustrial Manhattan, the West Side is a highly desirable—and expensive— place, home to residential developments catering to the well-to-do who want to live close to the waterfront and its now recreational piers.

  • DONALD TRUMP REFLECTS on HIS BEGINNINGS, VENTURES, and PLANS for the FUTURE Donald Trump Chairman and President the Trump Organ
DONALD TRUMP REFLECTS ON HIS BEGINNINGS, VENTURES, AND PLANS FOR THE FUTURE Donald Trump Chairman and President The Trump Organization December 15, 2014 Excerpts from Mr. Trump's Remarks Are you considering running for President? I am considering it very strongly. How did you get started in business, buying a hotel, with almost no money? Well, it was owned by the Penn Central Railroad and it was run by some very good people. Actually, it's very interesting, because he happens to be a very good man. It was Victor Palmieri and Company. And one of the people is John Koskinen. Does anyone know John Koskinen? He's the head of the IRS. And he's a very good man. And while I'm a strong conservative and a strong Republican, he's a friend of mine. And he did a great job running Victor Palmieri. And I made deals with John and the people at Victor Palmieri and took options to the building. And after I took options to the Commodore, I then went to the city. Because the city was really in deep trouble. I was about 28 years old, and the city was really in trouble. And I said look, you're going to have to give me tax abatement. Otherwise this was never going to happen. Then I went to Hyatt. I said you guys put up all the money and I'll try and get the approvals. And I got all the approvals. And Hyatt, Jay Pritzker and the Pritzker family, they put up the money.

  • The Heart of Fifth Avenue Shopping Is Edging to the South by JANE L
The Heart of Fifth Avenue Shopping Is Edging to the South By JANE L. LEVERE Published: September 4, 2012 Ángel Franco/The New York Times Aritzia, its under-construction storefront painted black, is joining Lacoste at 49th Street and Fifth Avenue. Long the retail stepsister of upper Fifth Avenue, the stretch of the avenue south of 49th Street and north of 42nd Street seems finally to be coming into its own with the opening of several flagship stores by retailers from around the world. The list includes Joe Fresh and Aritzia, two Canadian fashion retailers; Ted Baker London; Tommy Bahama; and an expanded Lacoste. H&M, the Swedish fast-fashion retailer, also announced last month that it planned to open its largest store in the world, a 57,000-square-foot outlet at 48th Street and Fifth Avenue, next fall. Several factors are responsible for this burst of activity. The supply of vacant retail space on Fifth Avenue north of 49th Street is quite limited. What is available, though, is expensive, making it prohibitive for many merchants, especially those that do not sell luxury goods. But “if you are a global name, you need to have a flagship presence on Fifth,” said Lawrence J. Longua, clinical associate professor at the New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate. “Fifth Avenue to New York is like the Champs-Élysées in Paris; it’s the place where you cannot not be.” Some companies have decided that moving down the avenue is a good alternative. Fifth Avenue is an attractive shopping destination for tourists, especially international tourists, whose numbers have been climbing annually and who have been spending generously.
