Harold Renfree grew up in Fitzroy, an inner suburb of Melbourne, but much of his working life was spent in Canberra where he eventually became the Crown Solicitor of Australia. ALSO PRESENT Ward Councillor Bill Maddern, Mrs L Double (“Cornishman” correspondent) and ten members of the public. 303. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE Apologies for absence were received from Councillor Mrs J Barker. 304. TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST Councillor P Shannon declared a prejudicial interest in Planning Application No09‐0504‐HP, the applicant being a relative, and left the room during discussion about this matter. 305. POLICE MATTERS PC Dan Care being unable to attend the meeting, Councillor A Tonkin reported that there had been six crime reported in the period 1st May to 10th June 2009, compared to six in a similar period in 2008. The crimes were: burglary from a dwelling or insecure property, the property being entered and cash, debit and credit cards being stolen; criminal damage to a vehicle parked in Sennen Heights, the windscreen being smashed; criminal damage to a vehicle in Atlantic Crescent, a tyre being slashed; the theft of a handbag from Lands End Hotel; criminal damage to a vehicle parked at Beach car Park, Sennen Cove, the bonnet and offside panels being scratched; burglary from Skewjack Farm when a non‐dwelling or insecure garage was entered and two off‐road motorcycles and one helmet were stolen. There were no further matters raised. 306. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING The minutes of the meeting held on the 1st May 2009, having been circulated, it was resolved that they should be signed as a true and correct record.
