SEASON REVIEW HAILIE SAMPLE 6-1 l Junior l Forward Flower Mound, Texas 104 | NEBRASKA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL | 2013-14 Huskers Have Fun on Run to Second NCAA Sweet 16 Nebraska spent the 2012-13 season solidifying its spot among the top 20 women's college basketball programs in the nation. A young Husker team that featured just one senior starter and just two seniors overall on an 11-player roster, sprinted to its second NCAA Sweet 16 in the past four years. Despite playing the nation's No. 12 strength of schedule, the Huskers notched the second-most wins in school history with a 25-9 record. NU also finished second in the regular-season Big Ten standings with a 12-4 conference mark, the second-most league wins in school history. Nebraska's success translated into a No. 16 RPI in the final NCAA rankings and a No. 18 final national ranking in the USA Today Coaches Top 25. It was NU's third top-25 finish in the last four seasons. Nebraska's fan base also continued to grow in support of one of the nation's rising programs. The Huskers ranked 16th nationally in average home attendance with more than 5,200 fans per game watching Nebraska compete in its final season in the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Huskers averaged nearly 6,600 fans per Big Ten home contest. Throughout the season, senior Lindsey Moore and junior Jordan Hooper rewrote Nebraska history. The pair became the first Seniors Meghin Williams (#10) and Lindsey Moore (#00) led Nebraska to three NCAA Tournament Husker teammates to earn preseason mention appearances, including NU's first two NCAA Sweet 16 bids during their four years in Lincoln.

  • Baylor's Brittney Griner Headlines 2012-13 Preseason 'Wade Watch' List
Baylor's Brittney Griner headlines 2012-13 preseason 'Wade Watch' list ATLANTA (September 18, 2012) - Baylor center Brittney Griner, the 2012 State Farm® Wade Trophy winner, headlines the 2012-13 preseason "Wade Watch" list of candidates for the prestigious award, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced today. Connecticut leads all schools with three players on the 25-member preseason list. Five schools - defending national champion Baylor, Duke, Kansas, Nebraska and Penn State - are represented by two players each. Now in its 36th year, the State Farm Wade Trophy is named in honor of the late, legendary three-time national champion Delta State University coach, Lily Margaret Wade. Regarded as "The Heisman of Women's Basketball," the award is presented annually to the NCAA® Division I Player of the Year by the National Association of Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS) and the WBCA. The preseason list is composed of top NCAA Division I women's basketball players who best embody Wade's spirit from 18 institutions and eight conferences. A committee of coaches, administrators and media from across the United States compiled the list using the following criteria: game and season statistics, leadership, character, effect on their team and overall playing ability. Notre Dame's Skylar Diggins, Delaware's Elena Della Donne and Georgetown's Sugar Rodgers join Griner on the preseason list for the third straight year. Alex Bentley of Penn State, Carolyn Davis of Kansas, Stefanie Dolson and Bria Hartley of Connecticut, Chiney Ogwumike of Stanford and Odyssey Sims of Baylor are making their second appearance on the list.

  • Marta Aarli Interconnected Dreaming: Revealing The
Marta Aarli Interconnected Dreaming: Revealing the Unconscious through the Combined Dreams of a Therapeutic Team (Paper) Combining the dreams of five members of a treatment team - one client and four psychotherapists - over a five-year period, Marta weaves their dreams and waking life experiences together, to create new insights that inform the clinical treatment and deepen the mutual recovery of all the team members. In the Windhorse model, a team of psychotherapists works with an individual client, often for five or ten years, and sometimes longer. Over time, the team observes a group dynamic that is referred to in Buddhist terms as Tonglen or exchanging oneself for others. One team in particular inspired Marta to start tracking and combining the dreams of its five members, the client and four therapists, into a story of inter-woven dreams and waking-life experiences, to reveal the unconscious dynamics of the team. In the process, it sometimes became difficult to distinguish whose dreams were whose, as the collective experience, or the dreams of the team itself, started to be revealed. Because this is a contemplative approach, the therapists work with their own states of mind in order to more fully understand what is happening inside the client, who may not be aware of or able to verbalize these feelings and insights. Dreams are one way of tuning in to these unspoken layers of experiences, especially through the combined expressions of the unconscious of all of the team members / dreamers. Many schools of psychology look at the dreams of the client, but we can take this to a deeper level when we look at the therapists’ dreams as well, and then weave them together over a period of time, to reveal the developmental stages of connection and growth happening on an unconscious level, within the whole system of the team, acknowledging the mutual benefit to all team members.
