K-State’s Part Time Job Fair was held August 25 at the K-State Student Union. Roughly 1,000 students attended the five hour event. At the event, the Chamber’s Workforce Development Coordinator, Myranda Kimble talked with around 200 students who stopped by the booth. Fives resumes were received and every two weeks the students are sent job links they can apply to, based on what jobs they’re interested in.

On September 8, US Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins hosted her second annual Jobs Fair. There were 70+ employers and roughly 1,100 job seekers at the three-hour event held in Topeka. Myranda collected 35+ resumes at the job fair.

Washburn’s Fall Job Fair was held, September 13. Myranda attended and collected 8 resumes.

Hiring Success Story

Dawn was a military spouse who moved to the area in the fall on 2010. Dawn shares, "I met Myranda at a job fair last fall. She consistently sent me job leads for many months which was very helpful because I relocated from the west coast. In August, she forwarded my resume to a business in downtown Manhattan. I am now employed by that company. Myranda was my best cheerleader throughout my job search. Myranda, Thanks for your help and support!" Congrats, Dawn!
