The conservation village of Straiton lies around 12 miles south-east of Ayr on the River . It is a beautiful area in which to reside, being surrounded by farmland, hills and valleys and near the Galloway Forest. Local attractions include , Loch Bradan, Glen Trool, and the sea coast. The village has a community shop, a part-time cafe, a church and primary school, as well as a bus service to and Ayr.

Directions

From Ayr proceed south of the A77 passing through and turning left at the signpost for Straiton. Follow this road through and continue on to Straiton. Continue through the village, past the school and two further cottages, and Culdoch Cottage can be found on the left hand side.
