any years in the planning and thou- sands of unforgettable experiences in the making, the CDGA’s Three- Hole Sunshine Course and MI*Mag*Jen Clubhouse were formally dedicated Sunday, June 6, under bright blue skies and an appropriately blazing sun. The dedication ceremonies featured a major announcement underscoring how significant the Sunshine Course and the Sunshine Through Golf program are to the Foundation’s ambitions. On June 6, the Foundation’s name officially changed to the Sunshine Through Golf Foundation. CDGA president Robert Berry unveiled the Foundation’s new logo: a smiling golf ball reflecting sun rays. • PRE-ROUND PRESS CONFERENCE 21 October 2019
PRE-ROUND PRESS CONFERENCE 21 October 2019 TIGER WOODS CHUAH CHOO CHIANG: Good morning. We would like to welcome with us on stage 81-time PGA TOUR winner, Tiger Woods. Tiger, welcome to the inaugural ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP. Your first time back to Japan since 2006. Please share opening comments about being here for the PGA TOUR's first official tournament. TIGER WOODS: Yeah, I haven't played here in a very long time, a place that I've thoroughly enjoyed over the years. First came here in '96 or '97 and had a chance to play with Jumbo and been coming here ever since. To be back here playing a tournament, it's going to be a lot of fun to be back here in front of fans that really understand and respect the game of golf. The game of golf is so strong here in Japan, and to have seen it grow like it has over 20-some odd years that I've been playing is very special and to be a part of it is even more special. Q. How's your knee and the stages that you went through to get your knee back to assuming 100 percent? TIGER WOODS: Yeah, I had it scoped, some cartilage issues. I was intending to actually get it done last year after the Hero World Challenge. Because I had played well in the Playoffs and I won the TOUR Championship, I figured I would keep rolling with it, and I wanted to play at Torrey at the beginning of the year.

Skins Game Each skins game will be broken into flights. The number of flights and your position in flights varies from week to week depending on the number of participants and their handicaps. Pay $5.00 entry at the Pro Shop. If no skins are won, then entry will carry over until next time skins are played. Turn in your scorecard w/first and last name at the desk. Red, White & Why Did I Birdie????? Each player begins on the white tees of hole #1. Depending on your gross score, play the proper tees on the next hole: • Double Bogey or higher – Red Tees • Bogey – Gold Tees • Par – White Tees • Birdie/Eagle/Albatross – Blue Tees Red, White & Blue Individual The Player decides which tees to use: 9-Hole Event: 3 REDS 3 WHITES 3 BLUES Total Combined Score Combine the gross scores of you and your partner to determine score for the 9 holes. Pro Shop staff will apply handicap for final result. 2-Man and 4-Man Scramble Pro Shop staff will deduct teams handicap from final score. 3-Club Tourney Player selects 3 clubs to play with for the entire round (and yes, a putter counts as a club!!). LAHONTAN GOLF CLUB TAHOE. TRADITION. LEGACY. A Note on Event Sign-ups Please note that a sign-up deadline is requested for all golf events. Please sign up for all events a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the event date to ensure that the field can be properly managed. Online registration will be available through the Lahontan website (members.lahontangolf.com) or you may register for events at the golf shop. This effort is being made to ensure event fields will be even and that last minute sign-ups do not create a situation where a twosome 2015 will have to play alone in a tournament or that flights in a major event (i.e., Men’s Member-Guest) will be uneven. Late GOLF EVENTS sign-ups will be treated on a space available basis. SCHEDULE Last minute cancellations can be detrimental to the smooth nature of an event. While last minute situations will occur, please notify the Golf Shop at least 1 week in advance when you need to drop out of an event or the event fee will be charged. POST-ROUND INTERVIEW 21 October 2019 TIGER WOODS JASON DAY RORY McILROY HIDEKI MATSUYAMA HENNI ZUËL: What a nice little confidence boost this is. Obviously it's fun to play along these guys, but it's a world-class foursome and how did you feel out there? JASON DAY: It was great. I think the back and forth was nice and I honestly think we all played some pretty nice golf out there, so hopefully the fans enjoyed it on TV around the world. I think overall it was a lovely afternoon, evening. First time I ever finished under lights, so that was exciting. HENNI ZUËL: Tiger, how much did you enjoy this format? It's obviously one that you're familiar with, skins, but how much did you enjoy it out there with these guys? TIGER WOODS: Well, I enjoyed just being out with these guys and I think that we all put on a pretty good show. No one got shut out, which was great, and I think we made a few birdies. Learned the golf course a little bit on the fly and we got it in, which is great. HENNI ZUËL: Rory, your style of golf is pretty aggressive. I feel like this suited you out there to be able to just fire at pins? RORY McILROY: Yeah, for the most part. Yeah, no, it is, especially with the way the course was set up, we could fire at some pins. Yeah, no, it's good fun. I mean, there's probably a few holes out there where during the tournament this week we probably won't hit driver, but it was nice to get driver in our hands and have a hit and have a bit of fun.
