SPRING BLESSINGS! Grateful for DOUBLE BLESSINGS of ... 1 … Sprinklers back online after scuba divers cleaned both pump screens and replaced one pump, and 2 … Spring rains, finally! ENHANCED POLICE PATROLS, in response to our residents calling in security issues to the police first, then our office. Pam Bushnell, Office Manager, has done a great Photos by Dave job of noting any patterns of vandalism and encouraging the Broward County Sheriff to give us more attention. Remember...call the police first! POOL PLEASURES...Broward County relaxed the pandemic protocols for pools on April 19, recognizing transmission was not related to surfaces, but still prioritizing masks and physical distance among non-family groups. We are grateful to have returned some chairs and lounge chairs to the pool deck...under the canopy. For protection of our chairs and lounge chairs, please remember to lay towels down first, and to return all chairs under the canopy, so as to minimize sun damage. Outdoor restrooms and water fountain have been restored. INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY...TO SELF AND OTHERS...is still a high priority. Respect one another and build up our community. LOOKING GOOD! Compliance with cleaning roofs and driveways is progressing well. Second notices are being given to a few not yet in accordance with our community. Notices are now going out for landscape issues...tall trees (hurricane susceptible), large bushes, growth impeding mowers, or growth hanging over our roads. Building our community together... • HOCPR FAQ Finalx
2012 Hands-Only ™ CPR FAQ FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY HANDS-ONLY™ CPR Q: What is Hands-Only CPR? Hands-Only™ CPR is CPR without mouth -to-mouth rescue breaths. If you see a teen or adult collapse , you can perform Hands-Only CPR with just two easy steps: 1) Call 911 (or send someone to do that). 2) Push hard and fast in the center of the chest to the beat of the Bee Gees’ classic disco song “Stayin’ Alive.” Q: Who should receive Hands-Only CPR? Hands-Only CPR is recommended for use on teens or adults (anyo ne over the age of 8) whom you witness suddenly collapse. Q: Does learning Hands-Only CPR increase the chance of a bystander taking action in a cardiac emergency? Yes. Most Americans (70 percent) feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency because they don’t know how to administer CPR or they’re afraid of hurting the victim. But people who learn Hands -Only CPR and are more confident in administering it are more likel y to remember the correct rhythm when trained to the beat of the disco classic “Stayin’ Alive.” In a national survey, Americans who have not been trained in CPR within the last 5 years stated that they would be more likely to perform Hands-Only CPR than conventional CPR for an adult who collapses suddenly. HANDS-ONLY CPR CAMPAIGN Q: What is the Hands-Only CPR Campaign? The American Heart Association’s CPR & First Aid unit has launched a campaign to raise awareness of Hands - Only CPR as a life-saving method and to increase the likelihood of people to perform CPR in an emergency.

  • For Your Consideration
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION Director: Christopher Guest Cast: Bob Balaban, Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, Ricky Gervais, Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Fred Willard Year: 2006 Runtime: 86 minutes Country: USA Language: English Distributor: Warner Independent Pictures After the brilliant comedic success of such signature mockumentaries as the international festival favourites BEST IN SHOW and WAITING FORGUFFMAN and the enduring cult hit THIS IS SPINAL TAP, director Christopher Guest returns with another hilarious film, this time turning his sights on the Hollywood machine itself. FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION made its impressive debut as a Gala Presentation at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival®. Though not in the mockumentary style, FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION does rely on the inspired improvisational skills of Guest and his big-name cast in its tale of three actors (Catherine O’Hara, BEST IN SHOW, OVER THE HEDGE, “Six Feet Under”; Parker Posey, BEST IN SHOW, SUPERMAN RETURNS; and Harry Shearer, “The Simpsons,” CHICKEN LITTLE) starring in a dreadful indie movie set in the American South in the forties. This film within the film – an exceptionally insipid melodrama called “Home for Purim” – forces the actors to lament the sad state of their careers; that is, until the film attracts attention and their performances begin to generate awards buzz. Fans of Guest’s work will be thrilled to know he has assembled a cast that reunites many of his regular collaborators, including Posey, O’Hara, Shearer, Jane Lynch (THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN), Bob Balaban (GOSFORD PARK, GHOST WORLD), Jennifer Coolidge (BEST IN SHOW, LEGALLY BLONDE), Michael McKean (THIS IS SPINAL TAP) and Fred Willard (DATE MOVIE, THE WEDDING PLANNER).
