There is a detailed description of how the meeting went and how long it lasted. As per Hindustan times, the meeting lasted for 30 minutes. Both them have some issues to be resolved regarding the farmers and citizens. The body also included how Sena hs been criticizing its ally BJP in its entire tenure and how it is justifying the alliance now. It has a straightforward tone which says the talks will not move forward unless certain demands of Sena are not fulfilled. Sena wants the tenure to be split between two parties into 2.5 years, with the first term going to Sena. There was no confirmation on the prior demands. As this was the first round of discussion, no proper decision was taken. More rounds of negotiations will take place I order to come to a conclusion. Conclusion- HT……. retains power. Senior leaders of both the parties are working towards coming up with a final decision but its taking time due to delay in agreements between the parties related to the elections. 250 words Newspaper- Times of India Date- 15th February, 2019 Headline- CM meets Uddhav for poll talks in Matoshree Introduction- As the…… he said. 1. Who- CM Devendra Fadnavis and Sena president Uddhav Thackeray 2. What- Meet for poll talks 3. When- On Thursday evening (14th February, 19) 4. Where- At Matoshree residence in Bandra (Thackeray’s residence) 5. Why- Whether recalcitrant ally Shiv Sena would ally with the BJP for the LS polls lingered? 6. As per Fadnavis, the discussion ended on a positive note and they will draw a conclusion soon. Further he said, because of Phulwama attacks the discussion couldn’t last longer. The issues will be discussed in detail in future. The meeting took place between CM Devendra Fadnavis, senior BJP minister Chandrakant Patil, Sena president Uddhav Thackeray and Sena minister Subhash Desai. Hours before the meeting took place, Sena demanded CM’s position for which BJP said such demands will not be accepted. Conclusion- Sena leader………… alliance. According to Sanjay Raut, Sena leader MP, said that Sena has a clear stand on alliance. BJP should accept some conditions if they want to ally with Shiv Sena, otherwise they shall contest the elections separately. BJP spokesperson Madhav Bhandari said Sena had the opportunity to show its power in the polls instead of having it as a condition. 250 words Newspaper- Mahanagar Headline- Yuti par matoshree me sataratmak charcha A positive discussion in Matoshree on alliance Introduction- Agami….. mulakat ki. CM and Shiv Sena president had a meet in Matoshree on Thursday where both had an hour long discussion and it ended on a positive note as said by Fadnavis. He further mentioned how the issues between both the parties will be resolved in a peaceful manner. As said in other newspapers except HT, the meeting lasted for 1 hour because of Phulwama attacks. Senior BJP minister Chandrakant Patil was also present at the meeting. Body- Desh……. Bana chuki hai. As the parties coming together to form an alliance against BJP is increasing, BJP doesn’t want to lose its ally at any cost. The incident of Bihar elections has already cost them a lot. Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut has given an ultimatum of 48 hours to BJP (The information about the time limit was not given in any other newspaper). If any decision is not taken, then Shiv Sena will start the campaign. According to the sources, Shiv Sena is demanding 150 seats in the Vidhan sabha elections and is asking for seats in Bhivandi, Jalgaon, Dindori for Loksabha elections. Conclusion- Ek taraf….. baat hai. Shiv Sena is targeting BJP again and again while BJP is all positive about its alliance with Shiv Sena. Reacting to the ultimatum given by Sanjay Raut, BJP’s Madhav Bhandari said that the decision related to the alliance will be taken by the senior leader. 250 words Newspaper- Patrika Date- 15th February, 2019 Headline- Matoshree pahunche CM Fadnavis CM Fadnavis visited Matoshree. Introduction- Shiv Sena… sakaratmak rahi. It has been written in a very dramatic manner. It starts with ‘ Seeing Shiv Sena’s growing disappointment, CM Fadnavis went to Matoshree to meet the Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray to convince him.’ It says the conversation lasted for an hour and many topics were discussed. The talk ended on a positive note as per Fadnavis. Body- Uddhav….. Sakaratmak hai. The body describes about the people who were present for the meeting and that Fadnavis had left the Vidarha tour to attend this meeting. As per the article, Fadnavis went to meet Thackeray because it was an order from the higer BJP authorities from Delhi(not mentioned in English newspapers) After the meeting, CM informed media that the meeting was successful. Because of the Phulwama attacks they couldn’t discuss many other things. Bajpa……….. dabav. There’s a pressure on BJP and NDA from the activities taking place in Loksabha by many parties coming together to contest elections. That’s why BJP doesn’t want to lose its ally. Shiv Sena has grudges against BJP and has many times declared that it will contest election as a single party. Therefore, BJP is trying to convince Shiv Sena because it will be at loss if this doesn’t happen. Conclusion- Shiv Sena ……. karegi. Shiv Sena has placed many demands in front of the government and the government has agreed to think upon it has it has to do with the development of the people in general. 256 words .

  • SYNOPSIS the Petitioner (Shiv Sena) Which Emerged
B SYNOPSIS The Petitioner (Shiv Sena) which emerged as the second largest political party in the Fourteenth Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections, 2019 (“the Legislative Assembly”) is constrained to move the instant Writ Petition under Article 32 of the Constitution inter alia challenging the ex-facie arbitrary and malafide actions of the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra in refusing to accept the claim of the Petitioner to form the Government and declining to give reasonable time of even three working days to demonstrate its majority support in the House. The Hon’ble Governor vide the impugned action dated 11.11.2019 acting arbitrarily, in hot haste and in complete violation of the law laid down by this Hon’ble Court in SR Bommai vs UOI, (1994) 3 SCC 1, has rejected the claim of the Petitioner to form the Government and has also refused to grant even three days time to the Petitioner to demonstrate that it has the requisite majority to form the Government in Maharashtra. It is submitted that the factum of majority cannot be decided by the Hon’ble Governor in his own ipsi dixit and the floor of the House is the only ‘constitutionally ordained forum’ to the test majority. Besides, it is submitted that the government formation is a sacrosanct political C process in democracy and Hon’ble Governor cannot act as a stumbling block for thwarting/stalling a political party from forming the Government. It is also submitted that as per the constitutional conventions and practice, the Governor is duty bound to allow reasonable time for political parties to conclude their negotiation on government formation and not act as an agent/mouthpiece of the Central Government and /or the Ruling party at the Centre and has to allow reasonable time to political outfits to present the conclusion of their negotiations before taking a decision to reject any claim to form the Government.
