Velkommen tilbage De danske biografer har aldrig været lukket i så lang tid som i dette forår. Under verdenskrige og store kriser har vores gæster altid kunnet komme ind i salene og drømme sig væk til de nyeste film på lærrederne. Men langt om længe er vi nu i den situation, at vi igen kan åbne. Det har vi glædet os til – men der er heller ingen tvivl om, at det er en uvant situation. Det er det ikke mindst på grund af, at vi ikke rigtig har vidst, hvad nedlukningen ville betyde for udbuddet af film. Derfor er denne udgave af Buzz Bizz også speciel – men glæd jer til at kigge ned over de mange spændende titler, vi har i udsigt til den kommende tid, og glæd jer til at byde vores gæster velkommen tilbage i biograferne. Desværre viser det sig at effekten ikke kan omvendes, hvilket gør at forskeren langsomt men sikkert mister al moral og hæmninger... Universals Dark Universe genoplives. Filmen handler om to alfe-brødre i teenageårene, som begår sig ud på en begivenhedsrig rejse, i håbet på at udforske hvorvidt magi stadig findes. I det isnende kolde Europa er folk ved at komme videre efter det chokerende terrorangreb på Charlie Hebdo tidligere på vinteren, men i København har den prøveløsladte Omar sine egne planer. Filmmanden Finn, den jødiske vagt Dan, den nedslidte betjent fra Politiets Aktionsstyrke Rico lever deres forskellige liv uden at vide, at de inden længe vil krydse Omars spor i en fatal og skelsættende nat.     Programme Notes Monday 9th August 7.30pm Another Round (Druk) (15) In this highly enjoyable award-winning Danish film, four middle-aged men deal with life’s disappointments by experimenting with alcohol, with mixed results. Faced with stale careers as teachers, failing marriages and mid-life crisis, Martin, Tommy, Nikolaj and Peter decide to try out a pseudo-scientific theory – that people’s lives can be improved by maintaining a low level of alcohol in their system at all times. Taking the project seriously, the friends set themselves strict rules and conduct research into how many successful public figures were habitual drinkers. Initially, they find that sipping during the day and sustaining a low-level of alcohol in the workplace makes them more relaxed, happier and self-confident. But when they start to pursue the idea further, are the risks of the intoxicating social experiment worth taking? Another Round is the latest collaboration between director Thomas Vinterberg, co-writer Tobias Lindholm and Mads Mikkelsen, who plays Martin. In 2012 the trio made The Hunt, an award-winning film which in which Mikkelsen played a kindergarten teacher wrongly accused of being a paedophile. In the hands of many directors Another Round could easily have descended into an absurd broad comedy or a tedious polemic about alcoholism. But Vinterberg avoids the pitfalls of both – he never makes fun of his protagonists and the story makes it clear that drinking can bring pleasure as well as pain. Mikkelsen, always an exceptional actor, is perfection throughout, brilliantly but subtly showing Martin’s transition from depression to rejuvenation – and then beyond.

    Movie Review: ‘Halloween’ NEW YORK (CNS) — One of modern Hollywood’s most enduring horror franchises turns 40 this year. To mark the occasion, director and co-writer David Gordon Green presents us with “Halloween” (Universal), a direct sequel to the eponymous 1978 original. Neither the anniversary nor the picture intended to salute it is any cause for celebration, however. As with helmer and script collaborator (with Debra Hill) John Carpenter’s kickoff, things begin rather promisingly. Moviegoers of a certain age may recall the suburban peace and quiet, accented with autumnal beauty, with which Carpenter skillfully induced his audience to share in his complacent characters’ false sense of security before unleashing masked madman Michael Myers — (then, as now, Nick Castle) — on them. Green, by contrast, gives us some interesting exposition concerning insecurity. The opening scenes explore the enduring psychological effects on Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), the intrepid sole survivor of the first of Myers’ many blood- soaked rampages, of that long-ago night of terror. As a duo of investigative journalists, Aaron Korey (Jefferson Hall) and Dana Haines (Rhian Rees), discover, after tracking the semi-recluse down, Laurie soon went into, and unapologetically remains in, survivalist mode. What follows might have been a thoughtful study of the impact of evil across time and generations. Both Laurie’s grown daughter, Karen (Judy Greer), and teen granddaughter, Allyson (Andi Matichak) have had their relationships with her strained by her fears, self-imposed isolation and apparent paranoia, while Dr. Sartain (Haluk Bilginer), the psychiatrist who has had charge of the captive Myers for decades, has become obsessed with him.
