My first Porsche was a series of “Up-fixin” books. If you don’t, then back in the days 1970 911 E. In hindsight, I did everything wrong with that before email, Google and YouTube, DIY articles appeared purchase, but that’s another story altogether. One thing that in print in regional newsletters and Panorama. Every 3 or 4 I’ll remember though, is the VIN number, 9110200016. Early years, PCA National would then compile all the tech articles VIN numbers are fairly easy to decode, model + year digit and reprint them into volumes of “Up-fixin”. Over the years, + variant + sequential number. It was a 911, built in 1970, 10 volumes were produced, with the last one appearing in so the first 4 digits would be 9110. For the 5 digit, 911T = 1995. If you’re interested, sets occasionally come up for sale 1, 911E = 2, 911S = 3, which makes the first 5 of the VIN on Amazon or Ebay. The individual articles were written by 91102. And it being the 16th car produced, the VIN ends up regular everyday folks to share their knowledge.
