Two new species of the millipede genus Anamastigona are described, A. cypria sp. nov. and A. strasseri sp. nov., both from the island of Cyprus. The new species are considered to be most similar to A. terraesanctae Golovatch & Makarov, 2011 from Israel, the three of them forming a species group which is briefly characterized. An updated key to all 20 recognized species of the genus Anamastigona is provided and a short overview of the taxonomy of the genus is given. Keywords. It does not contain unpublished records or records from papers in press (including on-line proofs) or unsubstantiated on-line records. Often the final versions of papers were published on- line the year before they appeared in print, so the on-line published year is accepted and referred to accordingly. Note, the authorship of species does not necessarily correspond to the full authorship of papers where they were described. The latest high level classification is used where possible though in some cases conflicts were encountered, usually due to cladistic studies, so in these cases an older classification was adopted for convenience. The classification for Hexapoda follows Nicholson et al. (2015), plus subsequent papers. † denotes extinct orders and families. New additions or changes to the previous list (v.2018.1) are marked in blue, corrections are marked in red. The list comprises 38 classes (or similar rank), 102 orders (or similar rank), 525 families, 777 genera and 1013 species (excluding Tilin amber and copal records). Of the 145 myriapod species currently documented, 40 species are not native to Canada. The myriapods have not been well documented with DNA barcodes and no barcodes are avail- able for Pauropoda. It is conservatively estimated that at least 93 additional myriapods species will be dis- covered in Canada: Chilopoda (40), Diplopoda (29), Pauropoda (17), and Symphyla (seven). -

ZooKeys 930: 199–219. https://doi.org/10.3897/zookeys.930.47490 Abstract The diplopod fauna of Georgia, Transcaucasia, is very rich given the country’s relatively small territory; it presently comprises 103 species from 44 genera, 12 families, and 7 orders. Most of the Diplopoda known from Georgia (86 species, or 83%) demonstrate Caucasian distribution patterns, 36 and 46 species, as well as 8 and 9 genera being endemic or subendemic to the country, respectively. A single Holarctic family, Anthroleucosomatidae (order Chordeumatida), contains 44 Caucasian species and 20 genera, of which 27 species and 14 genera are endemic or subendemic to Georgia. Likewise, all species from the orders Polyzoniida, Siphonocryptida, Glomerida and Chordeumatida, as well as most species of Julida and Polydesmida are native, also endemic or subendemic to the Caucasus, but the genera and families they represent are widely distributed at least across the Euro-Mediterranean Realm. -

17 Terrestrial Cave Animals in Bulgaria Petar Beron National Museum of Natural History, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. 1, 1000 Sofia, Bulgaria, e-mail: [email protected] Abstract: Karstic landscape cover about 22.7% of the Bulgarian territory, with more than 5000 caves and potholes. Regular exploration of the cave fauna of Bulgaria started in 1922, and by the end of 2005 more than 800 animal species have been reported from 780 caves. Troglobite and stygobite species are 167, most of them Bulgarian endemics. The most important groups are Diplopoda (54 spp, 17 troglobites), Coleoptera (123 spp, 41 troglobites), and others. Monograph on the cave fauna of Bulgaria is being prepared, containing all available data and bibliography of over 500 titles. Main centers of biospeleological studies are the National Museum of Natural History and the Institute of Zoology (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) 1 Introduction Bulgaria is situated in one of the richest regions housing cave animals, especially the terrestrial ones: the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula. Bulgarian cave fauna has been explored very actively, mostly by the Bulgarian biospeleologists. This is due mainly to the solid tradition left by the school of Dr. Ivan Buresch but also to the well-developed speleology, traditionally centered on the scientific research and led by specialists from Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Already for more than 80 years, Bulgarian biospeleologists explore the rich troglobite fauna of their country, its karst containing almost 5000 caves. The results have been put together by several authors and now form a very solid basis for zoogeographical analysis. -
